Posted May 4, 200916 yr Here are a few photos I've taken over the past couple of weeks... 1. The nation's first K-12 public arts school progresses in the heart of Cincinnati. The new School of Creative & Performing Arts is located along Central Parkway on the border between the neighborhoods of Downtown and Over-the-Rhine. 2. Looking southeast at the intersection of 4th & Broadway in Downtown Cincinnati. 3. Looking east over Lytle Park (there's an interstate running underneath this) towards the Taft Museum of Art. 4. Exterior of the new Christopher Marcus Salon at 1010 Race in Downtown Cincinnati. 5. Interior of Christopher Marcus Salon - lobby/waiting area 6. Interior of Christopher Marcus Salon - front desk 7. Interior of Christopher Marcus Salon - work stations 8. Beauty Bar inside of the Christopher Marcus Salon...they have regular "skin care happy hours" and also schedule them for private parties. 9. Looking north over Fountain Square and its Flower Carpet that has since been disassembled. 10. Looking south on Plum Street at McFarland in Downtown Cincinnati. 11. Same building but this illustrates the changes and expansions the building has seen over time.
May 4, 200916 yr Neat! Some year I hope to remember to get there to see the floral carpet. The workstation cabinets inside the salon look like mechanics'/technicians' roller cabinets. They wouldn't by any chance be Kennedy, made in Van Wert, would they?
May 4, 200916 yr ^Well you're from it's metro area, and you go to school in the metro area...It's a shame when people don't like where they're from. Great pics UR of my favorite US city...ok tied with Chicago ;-)
May 4, 200916 yr Quite possibly my least favorite Midwestern city. Randy can't say he didn't deserve that one  Great shots UR, I never get tired of looking at the University Club.
May 4, 200916 yr ^I'm no architect, but I always thought it looked cool; like they sat a new building on top of an old one. I can appreciate how some may not like it though.
May 4, 200916 yr Quite possibly my least favorite Midwestern city. Well played. Great shots, Randy. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
May 4, 200916 yr Quite possibly my least favorite Midwestern city. Ha! Great shots Randy of a truly beautiful city....and..eeerr...salon.
May 4, 200916 yr I cringe when I pass by this: I love that building...it reminds me of a lot of the buildings in Washington D.C.'s business district where they have been added on to over the years to maximize their floor space with the strict height restrictions.
