Another small batch of Cincinnati photos.  Many of these are construction update photos and have also been posted in the appropriate project/construction threads.  Enjoy.

 

 

1. First off is the always lovely Hyde Park Square.

 

2. Across the street is a beautiful fire station where there was this perfect scene (nice shot Brad).

 

3. Just down the street is a new infill project called The Residences at 2801 Erie Avenue (yes it's as high priced as the name sounds).  The exterior material is starting to show now.

 

4. One more view looking the opposite direction.

 

5. Over in Avondale they are making steady progress on the Cincinnati Herald's new headquarters.  The Cincinnati Herald is Cincinnati's premier African-American newspaper that has been in existence since 1955.  What's that other building looming in the background you ask...

 

6. ...well it's a new medical office building for Cincinnati Children's Hospital which is located almost right across the street.

 

7. I especially like the wood paneling used on the Herald Building.  The Cincinnati Herald will occupy the top two floors with street-level retail and possibly a restaurant taking up these spaces.

 

8. Hideous looking 1,450 space parking garage located behind the two structures.

 

9. We head southwest now into the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood located immediately north of the Central Business District.  The Fourteenth & Vine infill project seen here is nearly complete.

 

10. Same building...better shot.

 

11. Just a couple doors down from the Fourteenth & Vine infill project is this amazing building that will soon be renovated...I think it would make for an awesome office building.

 

12. Just a few steps away from that is the Lackman Lofts renovation project...the windows and enormous balconies on the back of the building are all new.

 

13. Behind Lackman Lofts is the Mottainai renovation project.  The new paint job and restoration looks great.

 

14. A few steps away from Mottainai is another renovation project being done by Tender Mercies that will offer transitional housing.

 

15. Across the street from Lackman Lofts is the Joseph Williams Home furniture store.  The interior space is absolutely incredible.

21. Exterior of Park+Vine (green general store) located just a couple blocks south of Joseph Williams Home.

 

22. The last stop on this journey is the Camp Washington neighborhood.  The historically manufacturing-focused neighborhood has seen some residential renovations of former factories as of late.  Seen here is Machine Flats.

 

23. Just next door is this beauty that is just begging for similar treatment.  And with that I'm out.

Eh, I have mixed thoughts on this. I like that it is a little more visually interesting from the street, but I'd rather have the space between the garage and street dominated by stores -- which won't happen right here right yet.

 

 

This is looking better and better every day. I might show this to my co-worker tomorrow, who said that OTR lacks modern structures that compete with that of suburbs.

 

The wood paneled newspaper building is beautiful. I had reservations at first, but it's come along very nice. How does a newspaper in this day and age afford that???

That parking garage looks like it should be in Barcelona. Very....interesting.

You mean like the structures in the West Chester thread?  Well your co-worker is right, OTR has nothing like that. 

 

Plus, OTR isn't competing with the 'burbs.  OTR is a unique 'hood in the entire midwest and offers something you can't find anywhere.
