Nice tour.  But where in the world were the parents of the kids out playing?

Thanks!

And...this is Kent, not Cleveland. So, not everyone get's shot by just walking out of the house. ;)

But seriously, they were in the side yard.

Thanks!

That looks like the front yard.  I'm not worried about a shooting, but a snatching, you could be a child molester.  You were that close to those kids walking with a camera.  What if one of those kids ran out into the street.

I meant the parents were in the side yard, lol. But, thinking back, it probably would have been easy for someone to have kidnapped those kids. I guess Kent residents have a small town mentality?

They need to be paying attention to those damn kids!  Someone get Portage County child welfare officials on the line!!!!

Too bad about the Carnegie Library in the last photo.

Nice set, though; Kent has some great homes.

The front steps have been ripped off and the front entry closed. This unfortunately happened to a number of Ohio's Carnegies.

Oh, I see. At least it wasn't demolished and is still being used.

I spent way too much time in studio, and not enough time walking around the city, apparently.  I'm pleasantly surprised to see such nice housing stock.  Nice series!

Too much time in studio? There is no such thing!

Awesome tours, thanks!

As an Akron fan, I have nothing more to say than...

Kent, ugh!

Akron Zips...home of the Wagon Wheel and 2009 MAC BB Champions!

LOL, what's the deal with the Akron U/KSU "rivalry?"  I didn't know one existed until this week.  But this is, I think, the 3rd time I've witnessed this dislike of KSU by Akron U students.

Hey, I posted Akron in a positive light, I could make it look a whole lot worse! ;)

I am also a fan of Akron (and I like it more than Kent) but Kent is still a nice place. I personally don't get the UA/KSU rivalry. Something that seems more of a UA thing.

I love the architecture of some of those houses...  another reason to go to kent... the other being going to hobby lobby....

Has this thread turn into pro ua???

Lol  I'm pro Akron...can't wait to see a game @ infocison stadium....

You did do a great job with Akron and had you not told me it was Can't, I would have thought it was a town with a lot of potential.  But knowing it was Can't, well, that was it.... It's just I'm a Zips fan and I have to do this....there is no other way....

For those of you who don't understand the UA - Can't thing, let me put it to you this way.  True Akron and Can't fans consider this rivalry bigger than the OSU - Michigan rivalry, and it's nasty.  For example, for the past two season's during the Akron - Can't BB games, there have been punches thrown on the court.  Kent's stadium was vandalized last year before they had even completed rennovations. It's actually getting a bit too out of hand and the school officials are starting to ask everyone to take it easy.

I don't get it either, I went to UA and my wife went to Kent, but I never really noticed a rivalry. Then again, I never really noticed a lot of people paying attention to sports at either school. I guess when you hang out with the engineering nerds at Akron, and the Art History nerds at Kent, you don't run into the people that care about this stuff.
