Someone from CU needs suggestions:

"I've been to Cleveland a lot, in fact I lived outside of it with a band I was in for about three months between high-school and college. I am usually there for sales meetings and turn right around and go, and the months I spent there were kind of a couple of days rehearsing before we went back out on the road again. We are taking advantage of the holiday and spending a couple of days there, anything we should check out?"

The Greek Heritage festival at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Tremont is a good time. Runs all weekend.

rib cook-off and concerts in the flats.

Cavs games

I freaking love University Circle and Little Italy. My favorite neighborhoods in the city by far.

Was just at CMA yesterday for the first time in YEARS, and it's incredibly stunning.

Information on the Greek Heritage Festival (and yes, I recommend a visit) http://www.annunciationcleveland.com/Festival.dsp

On Saturday, the 23rd - there's the Detroit-Superior Bridge tour http://www.cuyctyengineers.org/subway_tour.htm

The Botanical Gardens in University Circle (easily accessed via the Healthline, Euclid and Adelbert station) are offering free admission over the weekend http://www.cbgarden.org/events/community_free_days.html

On Saturday, the West Side Market will be open (across from the Red Line rapid station at West 25th) - it'll be busy as hell but it's like Columbus' North Market with more of an old-world flavor http://www.westsidemarket.org/

Just a few ideas, I'll try to find more...

The Larchmere Sidewalk Sale (http://www.larchmere.com/) is taking place this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Good venue for antiques, home to one of the finest used bookstores anywhere (Loganberry books: http://www.loganberrybooks.com/) and the always splendid Vine and Bean Cafe (http://www.vineandbeancafe.com/).  Also, just one long block south is Shaker Square, which will have its weekly North Union Farmers' Market (http://www.shakersquare.net/farmersmarket.htm) from 8 a.m. to Noon.  It is a must visit if you have any interest whatsoever in eating well.

So, if you are staying downtown, hit the subway tour at 9 (call to see if you can enter from the east-end of the Detroit Superior Bridge- this has been possible in the past), get on the Blue or Green Line around 10:30 towards Shaker Square to hit the tail-end of the Farmer's Market, meander up to Larchmere for the Sidewalk Sale, then take the Rapid back downtown and then get on the 81 or 23 (LeBron's Bus) down to Tremont for a night of Greek carousing.

WILL YOU LOOK AT THAT? I just planned your whole damn Saturday for you!

Oh!  And Canterbury Golf Club in Shaker Heights is hosting this Senior PGA Championship this weekend.

Fun times in Cleveland-town everyone, indeed.

Chrsity's Cabaret is pretty wild, if you're into that kind of thing

the greek fest is a must-one of my favorite of the year. Went yesterday stuffed myself full of lamb, greek salad and red wine. Loved the Greek music under the tent. We will probably be back for seconds before the end of the weekend.

Other good weekend things on the agenda:

Whiskey Island. The best.

Riding scooter and picnicing (again) in Metro Park which is awash with spring color and baby ducks  :-).
