On Memorial Day, I decided to go on the top levels of the two parking decks Downtown to get some photos.

Enjoy.

I'll actually start with this one taken last July from the roof of the Scottish Rite. Not sure if I posted it here or not:

From Memorial Day.

A little more northwest:

The Cellblock (Old Jail), the Genetti Hotel and the Mid-Town Parking deck. The Mid-Town deck is where the next photo was taken:

Am I the only one who would use his college money to restore this building? It used to be a Worth's Department store. Now, it's an empty shell :|

BONUS:

The Old Corner Hotel. I need more photos of this place:

Is the Genetti Hotel still in operation?

Cool shots, looks like an interesting town.

Awesome set.

Nice-looking town. I like how Pennsylvania towns use multi-story parking decks to help preserve downtown density, instead of turning everything into blocks of surface parking.

Williamsport is just the right size city to benefit from a movement toward working, shopping, and buying locally.

Yes it is, and it's supposedly one of the nicest hotels around. Many celebrities have stayed there while performing at the Community Arts Center next door. It used to be the Lycoming Hotel, and it even had a big red neon sign like the one it has now, but then it got bought out and renovated a few years back. I'd love to stay there just for a night to see what it's like.

Yeah I wish they would build a couple more though. There are a lot of surface lots behind the Genetti that could be developed by building a deck, consolidating parking and then building some mixed-use structures. And Williamsport is slowly getting there. Hopefully a lot of the current plans will go forward and turn around the Downtown.  It's a hell of a lot better than what it was about ten years ago, even five years ago.  But it's still in need of attention.
