August 8, 200915 yr News BASF to build new $50M plant in Elyria Thursday, August 6, 2009 By RICHARD PAYERCHIN [email protected] ELYRIA — A plant in Elyria where technology for electric car batteries will be manufactured is getting a $24.6 million federal grant. BASF Catalysts LLC., a Florham Park., N.J.-based company, will match that money to build the new $50 million plant at its Elyria facility, 120 Pine St., where the company employs about 185 workers. The expansion is expected to bring at least 30 new jobs, with the possibility of 30 more to follow.
