Posted June 6, 200916 yr Here are my latest Cleveland pics. Battery Park: From Lakeview Cemetery. My Favorite: What can you say?
June 6, 200916 yr Okay, I love railroads so you've got me hooked. I'd like to ask where the following were taken at so I can locate it on Google Maps :) ^I also assume that it is a current commuter line? ^Are there active tracks still on site? Good use of HDR, and not overdone!
June 6, 200916 yr Great pics as always Stickware. Okay, I love railroads so you've got me hooked. I'd like to ask where the following were taken at so I can locate it on Google Maps :) It looks like they were all taken by wandering into the areas adjacent to Canal Road on the southern border of the CBD. Canal Rd runs along the banks of the cuyahoga river opposite Scranton Peninsula.
June 6, 200916 yr Yeah, I agree with Sherman. Your HDR's are great. Not overdone. I love your photos and I always know I'm in for a treat when you post.

June 7, 200916 yr Excellent photos; I like the rich saturation in colors and your unique viewpoint on a lot of often-photographed scenes (like the Garfield Memorial).
June 8, 200916 yr That third photo is about the coolest shot ever. I would put that on my wall. The whole set was awesome.
July 3, 200915 yr thanks for the comments. The abandoned railroad photos and the Rapid Transit Line with the Terminal Tower were taken in the area south/west of Broadway between E24th and E9th. Hope that helps. There are a few ways to get in there easily.
July 3, 200915 yr My first thoughts were about how well the HDR was executed...and I see those thoughts have been echoed on here already. Very well done, your photography is really fun to view.
July 3, 200915 yr Spectacular! Would make great coffee table book material. I love coffee table books.
July 4, 200915 yr Okay, I love railroads so you've got me hooked. I'd like to ask where the following were taken at so I can locate it on Google Maps :) Sherman, the first picture in your post was taken on the bridge for the yard leads to the south half of Norfolk Southern's abandoned intermodal yard off Broadway. The north half is closer to Broadway. The yard lead bridge is over the RTA tracks for the Red, Blue and Green lines. The vacated track spaces to the left of the RTA tracks were used by railroad passenger trains coming out of the east side of Cleveland Union Terminal (today's Tower City Center). The bridge on which he took the photo is at the center of this GoogleEarth view. His camera was pointed northwest along the RTA tracks (you can see an RTA train) toward the upper-left corner of this image: ^Are there active tracks still on site? No. The tracks on the bridge approaching the site have not been used in years. That's NS's abandoned intermodal yard. NS's intermodal (containers and trailers) traffic outgrew the yard, so NS relocated it to Maple Heights, just off Granger Road.
