Today, despite my better judgment, I bought a Nikon D60! When I got home, I tried it out. Can't wait until I learn how to use it properly!

Love the camera :) It is a good choice. What stock lens did it come with?

It came with 18-55mm lens, but with the package that I got, I also got a 55-200mm lens.

Excellent choice.  I love how Nikon has been bundling other lenses.  Unlike my D40, you have a self cleaning sensor.  I know two people who have D60's and they absolutely love it.

Nope, we don't have one in Mansfield. The deal was at BestBuy.

The self-cleaning sensor really does work.  I've had a D300 for a year and have never cleaned the sensor.  I had a D70 for four years previously and the dirt was a constant nuisance.  It didn't matter so much for work that you would edit yourself first, but it made a big difference when the photos are sent directly to some editor or client.  It couldn't help but look sloppy and unprofessional with a few black dots on every image, even though it was usually less than a minute's work in photoshop to remove them.

Congrats! You've already demonstrated that you know your way around a camera, and I'll be looking forward to seeing more photos.

Sill okay, I guess...

I just picked up a Canon Rebel for the little woman. Same lens as this. Great camera. So much to learning and experimenting to do!

I got a Canon digital rebel xs....can't wait until I get some free time to use it!

Yup, that's the one she got (the cheap one, relatively speaking).

Got mine for $420....then got a zoom lens for $220.  So yes, it was a decent price.  :)

Well done!
