Posted June 7, 200916 yr Today, despite my better judgment, I bought a Nikon D60! When I got home, I tried it out. Can't wait until I learn how to use it properly!
June 7, 200916 yr It came with 18-55mm lens, but with the package that I got, I also got a 55-200mm lens.

June 7, 200916 yr Sounds like someone is a Costco member. Nope, we don't have one in Mansfield. The deal was at BestBuy.
June 7, 200916 yr The self-cleaning sensor really does work. I've had a D300 for a year and have never cleaned the sensor. I had a D70 for four years previously and the dirt was a constant nuisance. It didn't matter so much for work that you would edit yourself first, but it made a big difference when the photos are sent directly to some editor or client. It couldn't help but look sloppy and unprofessional with a few black dots on every image, even though it was usually less than a minute's work in photoshop to remove them.
June 7, 200916 yr Congrats! You've already demonstrated that you know your way around a camera, and I'll be looking forward to seeing more photos. That kitty is a seductive charmer! :-)

June 7, 200916 yr Yup, that's the one she got (the cheap one, relatively speaking). Got mine for $420....then got a zoom lens for $220. So yes, it was a decent price. :)
