Great looking photos.  You were wondering whether this area was in the Short North or Downtown.

These two blocks are across the street from the Convention Center and is considered to be in the Downtown.  The dividing line between the Short North and Downtown used to be very clear before the I-670 Cap was built.

Before the freeway cap and the shops atop the cap were built, there was a wide ugly bridge that went over an eight lane freeway.  And that gap was a very clear dividing line.  So you could say the I-670 Cap area is now the boundary area between the Short North and the Downtown.

"Going bi-directional with Gay Street will cause all sorts of congestion!!!"

I recall that a lot in discussions when the very thought of going two-way from one-way is brought up... never fails to amaze me when they don't congest.

Nice sunny day for taking photos. Did you go up in the Rhodes Tower for the sky-cam shots? :D

Nice pics.  The Short North is the gem of Columbus.

Thanks everyone!

Walker- Yes, those were taken from the Rhodes Tower.

This is one of my favorite ads of all time.  Do they still have the cars covered in paint at the bottom?

Sweet photo of the PDA ad.  I was wondering what it was advertising.  But see from this CU thread that its an ad for Fifth/Third Bank.  I guess the chain is from one of those pens chained to a desk in banks.  And the PDA is touting wireless/internet banking at Fifth/Third.  Neat.  I really like the light and action in the photo, along with the composition of the buildings in the frame.

About the Nationwide ads on the side of the Atlas Building, I wouldn't be surprised to see an update here.  Those ads have been up for about two years.  Usually these wallscapes get changed out more frequently.  Plus I read that Nationwide has changed ad agencies and is going back to the "Nationwide Is On Your Side" slogan.
