Posted June 14, 200916 yr Yup, you're just as shocked as I am, but they have signs, so what can you do? MAP
June 14, 200916 yr Holy Crap! I never knew such a place existed in Columbus! I love it. I think a movie could be filmed here.
June 14, 200916 yr Thanks for the set. I like this one: Holy Crap! I never knew such a place existed in Columbus! I love it. Columbus seems to have a good bit of this stuff tucked away (i.e. south Clintonville along the Olentangy corridor). It makes for very comfortable family living.
June 14, 200916 yr Pretty cute! Some nice, solid-looking housing stock, and interesting topography. Since there's not an overwhelming amount of vinyl, I'll give them a pass on it. The blue has to go, though!
June 14, 200916 yr Columbus has some great suburbs! Thanks. This is not a suburb. It's in the middle of a walkable urban Columbus neighborhood, a block away from a strip of stores and a 70-year-old neighborhood movie theater and a bus line. It's miles away from the nearest suburb.
June 14, 200916 yr It's not a suburb, but it's pretty suburban. It's very nice, though. Beautiful housing, very green, but needs sidewalks.
June 14, 200916 yr Columbusite, you really have the knack for finding some neat little out-of-way neighborhoods. Really beautiful housing stock. Another good job. It's pretty clear from the map provided that these streets aren't heavily traveled. This is one of those "green oasis" type neighborhoods you can find near OSU and in the Clintonville area. Think Iuka Ravine on a smaller scale. Like UrbanSurfin pointed out, its surrounded by highly walkable urban neighborhoods with sidewalks. This little neighborhood is just a change of pace from the surrounding context. Which is probably why Columbusite chose the photograph it.
June 15, 200916 yr It's not a suburb, but it's pretty suburban. It's very nice, though. Beautiful housing, very green, but needs sidewalks. I agree it needs sidewalks. My wife and I just took a walk there a couple days ago (we live on the other side of Walhalla Ravine). And while it may have a suburban feel, it has tiny lots and urban density -- I'm guessing at least 6-8 units per acre.
June 15, 200916 yr I always wonder about the "no sidewalk" issue, since it seems like residents in neighborhoods like this just walk in the street. I could see traffic calmed streets working as shared space for peds, cyclists, and cars. The next neighborhood I'm posting is also residential, though it had lots of streets w/o sidewalks and even some where they just last from the intersection and end at the next house.
June 15, 200916 yr The lack of sidewalks is mitigated by the relatively modest setback of the houses. Very well-proportioned, and well-knitted together by green. This neighborhood is high on my list of downtown alternatives.
June 15, 200916 yr Well done. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
June 15, 200916 yr The most charming aspect: the nearly 100% rejection of sprawling, tamed, turf grass lawns. Blame (thank) the topography and light filtration for that. Yup. Every neighborhood has its oddball:
June 18, 200915 yr Thanks for posting all the unknown Columbus neighborhoods. Its great to hear more from Columbus than just downton, Short North and German Village ...Not to say these aren't amazing neighborhoods

I think we need more threads of Olde Towne East and the Arena District as well.
