June 18, 200915 yr The Ohio River is legendary for it's mutant/freak creatures. There are tales of Ohio River rats that are as big as small dogs!
June 18, 200915 yr Maybe one of those rats fell into the river and catfish ate it! Actually, I've seen some dog-sized rats in the industrial part of Cleveland's Flats in the early 1980s. June 19, 200915 yr I guess i stand corrected. From the original story above it didn't say the Ohio river, just somewhere near Cincinnati. Downtown Cincinnati? What was this thing eating over it's life time? lol
June 19, 200915 yr I was talking with someone today about this fish and he said that a fish will only grow as large as its surroundings let it. If you put it in an aquarium, it wont outgrow it, but with a major river, there's no end it sight. He also said that it doesn't have anything to do with the toxins or whatever.
