Posted July 1, 200915 yr These photographs are from Saturday, June 20 and capture the first annual OTR Summer Gateway Celebration in historic Over-the-Rhine and the Civil Rights Game Youth Summit that took place downtown at Fountain Square. 1. Here's a crappy overview of the OTR Summer Gateway Celebration. 2. Two of the people who helped make this happen. 3. SE corner of 12th & Vine 4. SW corner of 12th & Vine 5. A bunch of crowd and vendor shots now... 6. This is the guy who started it all for the Cincinnati blogging scene. 7. Some performers get ready to take the stage at the OTR Summer Gateway Celebration. 8. 9. Looking south along Vine Street. 10. Across the street a couple of neighborhood children set up a lemonade stand to take advantage of all the foot traffic. 19. About 6 blocks south the Civil Rights Game Youth Summit was taking place on and around Fountain Square. 20. Fifth Street was blocked off to automobiles and used for interactive play areas for the kids. 21. An overview from the Macy's skywalk. 22. An aerial from the Carew Tower Observation Deck. 23. That's a good idea...originally I was going to play off the "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" movie title, but thought that no one would get it if I called it "Fun Times at 'Nati High" or something of that variety.
