July 23, 2024Jul 23 Mixed-use project in Dublin's Historic District taking shape A years-long effort to redevelop a property in Dublin's Historic District is coming to fruition. September 13, 2024Sep 13 New plan for Historic Dublin's Riverview Village project includes more public-facing amenities The developer behind the Riverview Village project in Historic Dublin said plans have been changed to make the mixed-use development more accessible and engaging for the public. A preliminary development plan submitted to the city shows new additions to the project, which is being led by Cohatch CEO Matt Davis. The original idea was to create a coworking and entrepreneurship village – something Davis is familiar with given his experience running Cohatch. That is still the case, but the most recent plan has more public-facing elements that were not included when the project was announced about two years ago. October 29, 2024Oct 29 See how Dublin plans to transform its Metro Center office district Dublin wants to transform its outdated Metro Center office district into a walkable neighborhood attractive to future residents and tenants. City officials unveiled the latest plans and renderings from its Reimagine Metro Center initiative at a recent public forum. Dublin has worked with the design firm Sasaki and others on steps to overhaul the approximately 210-acre district, which sits between Frantz Road and I-270 near downtown Dublin. Chris Will, a senior planner with the city, said the result of the planning will provide “a design and implementation framework to guide Metro Center into the 21st century.” “Metro Center today is largely a product of its era,” he said. “The suburban office park model did very well for a very long time, and it's served Dublin very well. It increasingly has a challenging time competing with other, more walkable mixed-use vibrant areas.” More below: https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/10/29/dublin-plans-to-transform-metro-center-office.html "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

November 2, 2024Nov 2 Dublin Presents Plan for Redevelopment of Metro Center The City of Dublin is ramping up its efforts to redevelop Metro Center, outlining a plan for the large suburban office park that calls for new mixed-use buildings and a central greenspace. Work on the plan, which was presented to the community in early October as part of the city’s larger 2024 Economic Development Strategy, has been ongoing for several years. Similar to the process that was undertaken over a decade ago for Bridge Park, Dublin hopes to jumpstart development by committing to new infrastructure and recreational amenities while outlining an overall vision that private developers can then help to implement. November 2, 2024Nov 2 Major projects planned for Dublin's Historic District, Metro Center, West Innovation District Planning is underway for future development projects in three key areas of Dublin. In October the city rolled out its Envision Dublin Community Plan after 18 months of engagement and research. Last updated in 2013, Envision Dublin focuses on plans within six specific areas in addition to other strategies related to community engagement and coordination with surrounding jurisdictions. Among the specific areas are the West Innovation District, the Historic District and the Dublin Corporate Area. The city is working on several new developments that could reshape portions of those districts in the coming years. "Envision Dublin ... will provide policy direction for the next two decades," Dublin Economic Development Director Jeremiah Gracia said. "It is helping us on foundational principles and with specific areas that we're going to focus on for redevelopment. It's very similar to what we had done with Bridge Park a decade ago." Here's what the city has planned within three of its districts.
