Posted July 10, 200915 yr What a pleasant surprise this city was. Had a friends wedding to go to so I drove with a group of college friends all the way from Ann Arbor, MI to Sioux Falls. Though we were there for about 4 days, our first day had the nicest weather. I spent about 4 hours photographing downtown. I wish i could pick this city up and move it to Michigan, but knowing the way my state works, they'd ruin such a great thing. Sioux Falls is a booming city, and the recession clearly missed them. They had quite a bit of new construction. Fin.
July 10, 200915 yr Is it wrong that my favorite picture is of the cherry red Mustang? I kinda started to drool.
July 10, 200915 yr ^ I was drooling too. That scene was so Americana...the car, the courthouse, the concrete streets, summer weather, and friendly people. I had to capture it.
July 10, 200915 yr The whole town definitely has that kinda feel. True blue American and whatnot. Nice pics. :)
July 10, 200915 yr On a lighter note, now I see where South Dakota's recession proof economy benefits go. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
July 11, 200915 yr I love the nice, clean concrete roadways and brick sidewalks. Very vibrant and nice!
July 11, 200915 yr Much better than I thought. Merely suggesting a 15MPH speed limit on a commercial street (4th pic down) here would get you tarred and feathered. I'm sure the businesses there just hate it. Well, if I ever find myself in SD, this is a must.
