Absolutely breathtaking. Thanks for sharing. While on a ski trip to Big Mountain I took a drive over to GNP but it was to early in the season and the roads were closed. Someday I must go back.

Beautiful photos! I can't imagine anyone jumping into that water; I'd think fresh meltwater would be maybe around 40 degrees F (or colder)!

There's a road that appears in several photos... Is that the famous Going-to-the-Sun Highway?

That is the Going-to-the-Sun road, pretty much the only route through the park other then a few spur roads in the west and one other road on the east side. Just opened up completely a couple of weeks ago with the snow melting.

Stunning! Definitely toward the top of my must-see list. Do you have recommendations on what city would be best to fly into from Ohio, though? What is the fullest-service airport? Missoula? Billings? Calgary?

Too bad Glacier N.P. will have little to no full glaciers in about two decades :(

Just outside of Kalispell is Glacier International Airport (KGPI, KFCA). Many flights including Northwest, Delta, United, Alaska/Horizons, ect..

Take a train! There are 3 Amtrak stops along the southern edge of the park. West Glacier would probably be the most used as it appears to be at the main entrance to the park.

Oh believe me, that's the first place I looked :) ... that would be a spectacular trip, but it's unfortunately almost $200 and 38 hours one-way from Cleveland. I would love to support the rail system, but that would eat up a huge portion of my vacation time and vacation money.

I overheard quite a few people saying they preferred Glacier over Yellowstone, of course I guess it is all personal taste. Yellowstone is obviously much more publicized and well known.

Also heard the park compared as the closest thing to Alaska, without actually going to Alaska, as well as the Swiss Alps, minus the 17km long tunnels.

Beautiful. I can strongly recommend Yosemite and the National Parks in Southern Utah(Badlands, Arches, etc). I haven't done Yellowstone, but that's next on my list.

Not quite at the level of the other National Parks, but Muir Woods is very nice. You'll be tree-hugging redwoods in no time.

I have only been to Yellowstone, Badlands, Tetons and Dinosaur, but I hear Glacier is the most rugged and impressive US National Park, and these pics are evidence of that.

I went to GNP in 2014 by way of Spokane, WA. Traveled through Coeur d'Alene, ID., then to Kalispell, MT./GNP.

If one has the time, this is a great trip to plan. Spokane I think is the largest airport nearest GNP, but as stated in 2009 there are other options. Spokane has a very nice downtown with quite a few restaurants. There is a really nice all purpose trail that has great views of downtown Spokane. The trail runs along the Spokane River.

Coeur d'Alene is a summer resort town, and sits on its namesake lake. It has lot's of local restaurants, locally owned specialty shops, and cool thrift stores. Not counting GNP, this was my favorite part of the trip when thinking of man made places we visited

Cannot add to Clevelumbus' post about GNP. The pictures say enough. It is a must go for anyone who has not been there.

Great Falls MT is also close (4 hour drive). Kalispell has an airport but I think only two airlines fly there.

Of course you could also just take the Empire state Amtrak line between Seattle and Chicago. Trains run daily to East and West Glacier!
