Ok. It's official.  I'm leaving La-la land for a Cleveland vaca from July22-29.  McCleveland, are you still doing your tours?  Any suggestions of activities during that week?  Thanks!

1. Are you staying at a hotel? What area? No need to mention the specific place.

2. What days do you have that are "open" (aka days where we can give you a full-blown itinerary, not "try and stop by ___".)

3. Any specific interests? Architecture, arts, performances, sports, etc.?

4. Any culinary preferences or restrictions?

5. If you'd be interested in a walking tour of downtown Cleveland, I could be available depending on my schedule.

I agree with Mayday's questions so that we can give you some really good suggestions -  also let us know how you will be getting about - will you have a car?

Well, I haven't been home for a year, so I'm looking to check out places and things that have opened since last summer.  I'm gonna hit the Cleveland Museum of Art to check out the new addition, of course.  I'm going to check out the Greenhouse Tavern.  I am a vegetarian (NOT vegan, I could live in a cheese shop), but that doesn't stop me from checking out meat-centric places.  As long as there is a bar, you can have a bloody steak next to me and I don't care.  I can always find something to nibble on.  I also want to check out Crop since I've never been there.  I'm gonna check out the Capital theater and  renovations as well as the new/improved Euclid corridor.  I am looking for a tour of something new.  I recall McCleveland saying something a while ago about conducting tours, and MayDay I would be happy to take you up on a tour of some sort.  I'm not familiar with the Arcades or Bank lobbies so much.  The Art Deco things.  I have accommodations with a friend and my family, and my availability is flexible since I have no set obligations.  Thanks for the help and suggestions!

Sweetie, so that others can help, where will you be based, that's pretty important.

I will be staying with my friend in Westlake and my family in Akron.  I don't mind traveling.  I plan on spending at least one full day running around Cleveland with other, shorter jaunts throughout the week, i.e. to hit or bar or a show.  MayDay, I posted my pic in the appropriate thread so that if I have the pleasure of one of your tours, you can pick me out of a crowd.

So any wonderful suggestions?

I think CMA, Greenhouse Tavern, and Crop are all good choices.

Since you're also an UO member, I'd also check out the new construction at CSU and University Circle (new cancer center, townhomes)

Would that all my vegetarian friends shared your perspective.  I do second the rec's for GHT and Crop but don't really have many other suggestions.  I assume you've been to Lola on E 4th?

I say visit Table 45.  Yummmm-O!

Did Stone Mad open since you were here last? Either way, it's worth visiting. The renovations are awesome and the outdoor patio is a great place to spend an evening.

All great ideas.  Thanks!  p.s. yes I've been to Lola's but plan on checking out the new venture in Avon Lake.

^Yeah, I saw those pics and thought how nice it would be to be on that cruise. Thanks for posting those!
