August 9, 200915 yr Wow, Dayton is a pleasant surprise and Cincy looks good too. Seems like I need to head down south.
August 10, 200915 yr Great photos of two of Ohio's most picturesque cities. I especially like the contrasting grit and glitz photos in Cincinnati's OTR district as it gives us an idea of what could be once this area is transformed and stabilized. Call it gentrification if you want but its hard to argue the on-going changes and investments in the OTR are not positive and do not bode well for the district's long term survival.
August 12, 200915 yr Beautiful photos! Dayton is looking pretty good; the attention they've paid to the river and the areas bordering it plays a large part in the overall attractiveness of the downtown area. Every time I see photos of Cincinnati, and especially OTR, my eyes and mind expect streetcar tracks and catenary. I'm not saying that in the context of the current discussion over a streetcar line; it just seems like that's something that's missing from the overall picture, given the architectural character of the place.
August 18, 200915 yr VERY NICE pictures! You got some great shots and from great angles! Great skyline pics!
August 19, 200915 yr Heh, heh- My daughter works part-time at Blind Bob's. I've never been there myself though.
October 28, 200915 yr These photos show how under appreciated Dayton really is. What great housing stock! OTR.... could be an amazing magnet for Cincy. Either tourism or for attracting new residents. The last photo of Covington shows what a tragedy it is that Covington is sooo cut off from it's riverfront....at least when it isn't flooding!!!! Nice tour!
November 20, 200915 yr I love seeing the catenary wires in Dayton. Being able to run the system on electricity rather than diesel must help them a bit, or am I mistaken? Both cities look fantastic, and I like Hamilton too. This could easily be one of the most beautiful places in the country...if we'd just stop suburbanizing.
November 20, 200915 yr Yes, it definately helps. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
