August 8, 201113 yr Popular Lindey's bartender opens own place in the Brewery District Tuesday, July 12, 2011 - 10:13 AM By GARY SEMAN JR. ThisWeek Community Newspapers Tony Murray was a bartender at a popular restaurant, had scores of adoring customers and a bevy of friendly co-workers, whom he called family. But with the dream of one day opening his own place, the longtime bartender at Lindey's left his comfortable surroundings for something less certain but with amazing potential -- a restaurant of his own. On Monday, he opened T. Murray's Bar and Kitchen, an ode to the bygone days of the Rat Pack, classic cocktails and personalized service. He said he can't emphasize his attachment to Lindey's enough. He started bartending at the German Village institution in 1989 and said leaving was difficult. "You've been in this comfort zone for so long," he said. "I was just waiting for the right opportunity and it came along." Yet, he has lofty ambitions for T. Murray's. The restaurant takes over the former Barrister Hall location at 560 S. High St. in the Brewery District, which has a re-emerging entertainment and restaurant scene. READ MORE: http://www.thisweeknews.com/live/content/food/stories/2011/07/13/tabletalk.html?sid=104

A clever reference to the building previously being the showroom for Hamilton Parker, a local brick and tile company. Hamilton Parker used to have an operational brickyard across Vine Street from this building that closed down after the Arena District development started. After the Brickyard had a run of nearly 10 years, these series of operations - that are trying to draw from the nearby Park Street college bar crowd - took over.

December 18, 201212 yr The Pint House Beer Garden Coming to The Short North By: Walker Evans, Columbus Underground Published on November 25, 2012 - 1:45 pm Construction recently began inside the former Voodoo Denim Lounge at 780 North High Street, which will house the new Pint House Beer Garden this March when it opens to thirsty Short North residents and visitors. Crews are currently gutting the former clothing store and installing new plumbing to accomodate the new bar and restaurant. The roof will soon be removed from the front half of the building to create a 1,000 square foot beer garden area, which was previously planned for the back. “The beer garden will be a courtyard-type environment with exposed beams overhead and a decor that resembles the shell of a warehouse,” said Pint House co-owner Chris Corso. “A lot of the beer gardens I saw when traveling in Prague were located in warehouse districts in older buildings, so that’s what we’re going for here.” Corso and his partners Mike Gallicchio and Brian Swanson form The CGS Group, a local nightlife and entertainment company that owns and manages multiple venues including The Long Street District, Park Street Patio, Park Street Cantina and The Social. The Pint House represents a departure from the nightclub scene for the group, as they are targeting a slightly older crowd. December 27, 201212 yr Pint Room offering 101 draft beers at new pub in Dublin Business First by Dan Eaton, Staff reporter Date: Friday, December 21, 2012, 10:40am EST The Pint Room opened last Friday at 4415 W. Dublin Granville Road in the Shoppes at River Ridge retail center. The 4,500-square-foot space had been vacant since the short-lived Wine Loft closed there in 2009. Owner Derek Rapkin likes the visibility and proximity to Wendy’s Co. headquarters, which is adding jobs. While the shopping center once struggled to attract tenants, a Montgomery Inn restaurant there has been a success and Wendy’s is moving a nearby eatery to a spot at the entrance to the center. January 17, 201312 yr Fat Head's looks to open brewpub in Columbus By Rick Armon, The Beer Blog Published: January 11, 2013 Fat Head's -- the award-winning brewery in suburban Cleveland -- is interested in opening a brewpub in Columbus. Partner and brewer Matt Cole confirmed the interest Friday, saying they are looking at the Short North, German Village, Brewery District and Polaris areas. Cole said he'd like to open a brewpub with a seven-barrel brewhouse that could produce a "massive variety of small-batch beers." Over the last several years, the state capital has seen Neil House, Four String, Zauber, Seventh Son, Bru (now apparently going by North High) and a second BJ's location open. January 19, 201312 yr Columbus Alive on Rehab Tavern. I was surprised I was one of the first on Yelp to review this place. It was definitely worth a visit while I was in town. Bar profile: Rehab Tavern By Jesse Tigges From the January 10, 2013 edition As Franklinton continues its redevelopment efforts, former hole-in-the-wall Three Deuces Bar being transformed into a hip new hangout signals welcomed progress. The Rehab Tavern — a playful name derived from the bar’s renovations — opened about a month ago and is already seeing success. Manager John Crispi said there’s been a steady flow of patrons; neighborhood artists, downtown lawyers and even a couple dressed to the nines celebrating their wedding anniversary. Most visitors to Rehab Tavern are coming to check out the spectacular renovations. If you’d ever hung out at Three Deuces, you probably won’t recognize much. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t remnants of the 40-year-old bar. An old Three Deuces sign hangs behind the bar and all the original furniture was refurbished with local artist Kevin Bickle’s custom designs. September 11, 201410 yr It's been over a year since The Pint House opened in the heart of the Short North. But according to CU, it has fit nicely into the Short North restaurant/bar landscape: Catch Up With: The Pint House By Ayana Wilson, Columbus Underground July 5, 2014 - 11:28 am When The Pint House opened last April at 780 North High Street, there were rumblings about its appropriateness for the area and its ultimate success. After all, the Short North is an Arts district, not an extension of Ohio State’s campus or Park Street. A year later, the Pint House is flourishing, imbuing some much needed energy into the neighborhood. Fears about the kind of people the place would attract (rowdy, young people who only drink to get belligerently drunk) soon faded when folks really got to know what The Pint House is all about.
