Posted August 19, 200915 yr Just a few more days till I move to Chicago, I managed to squeeze in some last minute photo threads (see Flint thread also). Here's a quick one of Saginaw, and I'll do a Bay City one maybe. And now we drive about a mile and a half north to East Saginaw The End

August 19, 200915 yr nice job & you got a nice sunny day. very solid stock there. could be put to better use but... :| your final tours reminded me -- last thing i did before i moved from columbus to michigan was a tour of holmes county amish country. i thought before i left ohio i would do something that was the opposite of where i was moving. turns out it wasnt at all, the hasidic neighborhoods are just an urban version of the same thing. good luck in chicago!
August 20, 200915 yr East Saginaw has a more interesting building stock than Old Town, but it doesn't have the same vibrancy.
August 21, 200915 yr Oh, Michigan. You're there whenever I need to escape to that strange alternative reality where everyone buys a domestic.

August 22, 200915 yr Not bad. I get this place confused with Saugatuck, which has a beach next door. No beach here.
August 22, 200915 yr Well, there's beaches 10 miles away in the Saginaw Bay, but they are all fenced off since the water contains Dioxin and sewage overflow.

Thanks, I hope the best for Saginaw. I really want it to succeed, and I'll have to keep an eye on the news. The metro area is doing well and attracting jobs with alternative energy research and manufacturing. Just wish it left a greater impact on the East side. As far as Chicago, there's no turning back now. I just signed a lease for a place right off the Magnificent Mile on Oak Street. There's a lot of stores on my block I'll probably never shop at lol. I just like that I can walk to work nearby.
