There will be retail in the northwest corner of the parking garage south of Prospect, right?

now that was a cool news clip video. at first i was like urban resort? what? but after they showed all these amenities, thats exactly what it is.

i also could not help but compare this to the new build convention center hotel, because unlike that one, they thought of everything and are doing everything right here.

Azure sounds like an awesome bar. It will certainly be popular atop 1010 Euclid, especially with laser and movies projected on the blank wall of The Breuer above. The Alex Theater sounds interesting, as does the speakeasy inside the bank vault (a very creative use!!!). The proposed restaurant Adega could be cool, especially since this is all across the street from my office!

I cannot wait for this "This granite wall jutting into Cleveland's skyline rises from the base of the Azure rooftop bar. This wall will be used to project laser light shows and movies more than 150 feet above the street."!  On the 9 website they had mentioned how they were going to put in 3D projectors.  This is going to be insane!!

OMG those pics and renderings are amazing!  This is going to be such a transformational project for this corner and a unique place in the city.  I cannot wait to party at that rooftop bar.

its reallyyy just win, win, win isnt it? (posted while listening to jay-z's young forever and run this town blasted in my local pub lol!)

The building does not look like the late a'50s or '60s (e.g. East Ohio, Erieview, CEI, Federal Bldg.) because it has that  matte silvery combined with other pale tonality colors that became popular in the early 2000s.  We have many examples in the region, such as the NEORSD headquarters, some of the Cleveland Clinic's new buildings, and new buildings in Chagrin Highlands.

Nice throwback look! Reminds me of the 60s-70s (yes, I remember it).

ONE VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION.  Is this a room at our property?

I don't think that is a retro throw back, I think it's the lighting and where the picture was taken.

^^it seems to be looking out the window

Yep, that's the Rose Building on the left and Schofield Building on the right.

Thanks, I wanted to make sure it wasn't a mockup or photoshopped.

This is a view of the tower from Barn Ct.  Looks like they cut windows in the lower (granite?) section.  Or at least, I don't remember those being there before.

^ Thanks for posting! Those are new

The cleaning is remarkable

Nice angle. Love the layering of buildings.

Since I'm by no means an expert on the historic preservation tax credit program, could someone explain why it's ok for windows to be punched out where none previously existed?  Are they allowed more flexibility because the building is less than 50 years old?

My guess is because they are not visible from the street. Maybe I'm wrong, but Barn Ct is not something that one would normally walk down.

Except for Urban Ohio members, of course.

The scale down Barn is incredible, and it would be nice if it were somehow activated...

What's the "scale down Barn?"

^ Read that not as "the scale-down Barn" but as "the scale, down Barn" and I think you'll understand.

**Edit: It's also a barn that Derek Zoolander would very definitely not approve of.

^^Ha Ha! I thought the same thing. Tried googling it and everything. Oy, what a day I'm having.

Wow. I weep for the future.

Pics from the 15th. Looks a tad better now that the cladding is more complete. Still not 100% sold on it though.

That first pic looks decent. And I just realized how long its been since I've ventures one block south of Euclid on East 9th. Funny because my office is 9th and Euclid.

How Many floors is this building? 7 or 8 ?  Is the bottom section 1 or 2 floors?

^ Bottom section is 2 floors

The sky bridge is such a beauty.

Bridge will be painted matching silver. 8 story building.

Too late.  It looks like two more "Victorian" arches planned for Euclid Avenue.  What about over streets coming from the south?

South? Cleveland doesn't go in that direction!

You mean like East 14th or Huron?  They have arches.

it looks alright. it even came out a bit better than i thought. bland is ok.

Right after taking the pics above, I'd glanced into the space between the new country building and the Breuer Tower as we drove past, and I don't recall seeing any connection between them.

So if you have an apartment in Breuer, would you park in that garage on the other side of the county building? I thought there was discussion way back that the skywalk was partly necessary for the residents, not just the county employees. So once across the skywalk and into the county building, where would you go to get to Breuer? Or do I have this all wrong? :)

That was envisioned in the original plan. Now you will either have to park in the garage and walk over or just have the valet service park your car for you when you drop it off at the front door of the building.

It hasn't been rebuilt and won't be rebuilt.

Wups - I meant coming from the north of course, Silly....  I'd expect there might be an arch over E. 13th Street and/or East 17th.
