July 30, 201410 yr Every unit in Riverbend on West 10th has a balcony. They're condos, but many are being leased out by their individual owners.
August 2, 201410 yr I thought surely someone would post a photo of The 9's new canopy by now! Yeah, yeah - I could have taken a photo yesterday, but the canopy was far from completion.
August 4, 201410 yr I thought surely someone would post a photo of The 9's new canopy by now! Yeah, yeah - I could have taken a photo yesterday, but the canopy was far from completion. I did post a pic of it up thread... at least the beginnings of it. Also the rebuilt design features taking place in the front windows

August 18, 201410 yr Me neither. I was at Friday night's game an enjoyed seeing The Breuer (yep, I'm still calling it that) all lit up. While walking to the game after a brief stopover at my office, I took a pic of crews cleaning the dark stone facade. It doesn't really show, the stone facade at left is quite smooth and reflective from the correct angles. Also, note that the column of building facade that was removed for the construction elevator going up the outside of the tower has been cleaned, too. August 22, 201410 yr Now that's a sight I haven't seen in 20+ years. Wow, there are a lot fans in the stands!
August 22, 201410 yr The spa is in the sub basemen t of the tower. I'm not seeing that anywhere on http://www.the9cleveland.com/. They mention an "energy fitness studio" as an amenity of the hotel, but no spa.

August 23, 201410 yr Pieces from the Cleveland Art workshop on Washington street (showroom in LA) going into the 9 http://clevelandart.com/index.php?route=common/home http://www.newsnet5.com/news/local-news/oh-cuyahoga/cleveland-art-installs-their-unique-lighting-products-throughout-new-hotel
August 23, 201410 yr     I have one of their pieces. They have an amazing showroom on Melrose. If my memory serves me correct the chandelier they are installing is in the showroom or the one in the showroom is a residential scale piece. It's nice to see local businesses, prosper and contribute to the local economy! I hope we see more of this.

The Spa isn't opening with the rest of the complex and an operator hasn't been selected yet, so no you wouldn't see it on the website... Anyway... August 27, 201410 yr According to twitter the 9 is 88% leased and move ins are starting tomorrow People are already moving in?
August 27, 201410 yr I think that's what this means. Fast! "@DowntownCLE: " @The9CLE residential units are 88% leased. Tenants begin moving in tomorrow." Take a peak of the concierge living: http://t.co/r48YC2EJn9"
August 27, 201410 yr What is the target market there at "The 9"? Those places seem really high end, I'm surprised many young people can afford to live there.
August 27, 201410 yr Gotta, I would think that with Cleveland being a $111B economy with around 1.7 million residents, there should be enough middle-class SINKs and DINKs around with a taste for urban living to more than fill up several more than one of these types of places. As public taste and national trends shift away from suburban living, a full tower will hopefully inspire a second one, and soon.

August 27, 201410 yr What is the target market there at "The 9"? Those places seem really high end, I'm surprised many young people can afford to live there. Who said it's only young people that want to live there? As has been discussed on this forum, much of downtown living is also fueled by empty nesters.
August 27, 201410 yr Which is who most likely is gobbling up the 12-14 sky suites available at no less than $3725 a month....chump change. https://www.instagram.com/cle_and_beyond/https://www.instagram.com/jbkaufer/
August 27, 201410 yr I like this building as a hotel or an office (the architecturally designed intended use), but as for living in, not so much. I really think a few new construction nice apartment buildings with windows that open, and balconies, will take these office conversion rental rates straight through the floor. I've said it before, it has to take a special person to live in a room on the 20th floor of a building with no access to the outdoors, not even a window that opens. These buildings will survive as apartment buildings, but I'm not so sure at the price point they are currently marketed at. Unless that is, nothing new gets built. Let's just hopw these are not setting the standard.
August 27, 201410 yr I know there's been some controversy over the branding and look of the signage... But I really like these shiny letters. Maybe I'm crazy :)
August 27, 201410 yr Thanks i was guesing someone from UO would take this pic i'll post mine also from today for the helluvit
August 27, 201410 yr But I really like these shiny letters. Maybe I'm crazy :) I've got some bad news for you ;) Thanks for the photos, guys! Amazing this thing is about to cross the finish line (this building, anyway) after all these years. Great to hear the units are getting snapped up.

August 28, 201410 yr I don't "hate" it, but I feel like it looks like lettering on a Trump building in NYC
August 28, 201410 yr Not my cup of tea design-wise, but it definitely beats an empty tower! Great news about the place being close to leased up as well.
August 28, 201410 yr Not a fan of the mirrored lettering at all. The way the face is distorting everything makes it look completely out of flat. It would have looked better with a non-reflective silver finish. Also, you can slightly make out some red behind the lettering, which I'm sure indicates the red backlighting you see in most renderings. I'm sure the sign will look better at night than during the day.
August 30, 201410 yr ExPatClevGuy - I wouldn't think of the clientele for "The 9" as "middle class." Definitely over the line into "wealthy." Same with whom I expect One Universtiy Circle to attract though, of course, many of them would be related to University Circle and these people to downtown. But many would be attracted to both. Yes, imho the new sign is quite classy - just the sort of thing I was hoping for. As for the reference to Trump Tower, a design resembling about anything on that stretch of Fifth Avenue is fine with me.
August 30, 201410 yr LaFont, Wealth is subjective, but I think my guidelines for income and class are more closely aligned with this chart. Middle Class Americans can earn quite a bit of money, and there are enough jobs (and other income sources) in the Cleveland that provide incomes at and above the $200K + range. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/51/United_States_Class_Structure_Comparison%2C1984-2014.jpg
September 3, 201410 yr I don't "hate" it, but I feel like it looks like lettering on a Trump building in NYC Good!
September 3, 201410 yr Browns pick Terrance West posted a picture on his instagram of moving into his new place. He's in the 9. Pretty high up as well. Good to see the younger sports players continuing to live downtown.
September 3, 201410 yr ^thats awesome. I imagined the 9 would land athletes and I was wondering if Kevin Love moved there. Anyone have an idea where Love moved?
September 3, 201410 yr My brother's friend moved in this weekend, too. He said Lebron bought the entire top floor and Manziel bought entire floor below Bronbron. Not sure how accurate this tidbit is, though.
September 3, 201410 yr That's not 100% accurate. They have rooms in the tower but Lebron doesn't have a whole floor to himself. Kyrie is in there as well as Joe Haden and a few other notable players from what I heard.
