The last day of August

There is nothing better than spending a cool August evening perched upon a spacious park offering the grandest views of the Queen City.

This image was actually taken in May, but the rest are from this evening!

Someone else was up there shooting with a bigger lens than my Sigma 150-500mm APO OS. I felt so inadequate.

You can find more photographs at the Downtown Cincinnati and Covington, Kentucky galleries.

Very beautiful pictures! Gee- Cincinnati doesn't even look the way I remember it. I haven't been there in ages! ( And I DO mean AGES!)

I love to go back and visit the Terminal Museum and I keep trying to throw out hints to my daughter and son-in-law to treat me to a trip to the Newport Aquarium but so far.....

I can't really afford to go myself and not sure my car would survive the trip there and back.

wow!!!! great work.

Nice!  Always enjoy your writing and photography!

Beautiful shots! I love these nearly haze-free late summer days.

It was also pretty damn chilly by the time I left! 65F, windy, in late August.

Thanks.

Hahaha,  Downtown Butler!  God CVG, please do something with that IRS building!

Great shots Sherman!

Someone finally picked that up :)

Great pics... I love the C&O railroad bridge. That thing is a beast.

Great shots Sherman. We've had some beautiful evenings this week so far. I personally am enjoying the cool weather.

Sherman what camera and lenses do you use?  These photos are amazing bud!

Nikon D3

Most of these were shot with a Sigma APO 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM, while some were shot with a Sigma Macro 105mm F2.8 EX DG. For some of the images, I had the lens extended out to 500mm, allowing me to watch the screens at Great American from the top of Devou Park.

apparently the Mt. Auburn broadcast antennas have been moved to 6th and Walnut...or so it seems....

Awesome you must be rich (5K for a full frame dSLR camera whoa!) the lens alone is $1500! Sweet, you do take some amazing pictures I've seen at your blog posts. Once day we're gonna have to shooting.

to watch the screens at Great American from the top of Devou Park.

thank you ... nice pictures .. I like them ..

You sure there is no room for improvement? Not with anything? ;)

Just how I like it.  I've been missing Cincinnati a lot lately, and these shots of Cincinnati's beautiful hills and river just have me aching.  Great work, I need to get my arse back to the 513.

^ I know the feeling. I'm headed back home for the weekend of October 16th, and it can't come soon enough.

I don't get to come home until Thanksgiving! I can't wait to get back and come through the cut in the hill and see my beautiful city once again.

  • 4 months later...

No need to feel inadequate, you got some great shots!

Fantastic views and weather.
