Hope I'm posting this in the right spot, not sure if it belongs here or under General Photos

Didn't she used to sit/stand out front of the DAI?

I hope she is restored and placed back out front where she belongs.

:(

Is it in poor condition and slated for restoration?

I don't know. I am quite sure she used to be out front but did notice some time ago she was no longer there. Then when I was taking pictures over that way I was behind the DAI and saw that. I guess I could maybe call and ask someone what the deal is.

I don't even know what she's called. That's terrible on my part.

Still I just think it's sad she's in such a bad state.

Sad, indeed. The statue's right arm appears to have become detached.

On the other hand, in my opinion the Dayton Art Institute is one of the city's best assets. The building is impressive, the location is commanding, and the collections and traveling exhibits are first-rate.

It's one of three Dayton-area attractions I've seen, so far, where I can lose myself for an entire day and completely lose track of time. The other two are the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson, and Carriage Hill Farm Metropark.

Yes- I agree. I really need to get over to the DAI more often. I want to get some pictures of the "cloisters"

In some ways I like that they enclosed part of them but in other ways I wish they hadn't. But still there is something "magical" or "mystical" about them. I can't explain it.

I wish the entrance to the DAI was still in front, but I guess I can understand why they moved it.
