I had to go run and check, sure enough
September 25, 200915 yr Wow, great pics of my old stomping grounds. Lots of familiar places in this series.
September 25, 200915 yr I'll be having sweet dreams of Chicago tonight when I go to bed. Two weeks and counting until I'm back in town after a 2 month absence. Every day that goes by I'm thinking about that weekend. Can't wait! Thanks for the great photos!
September 25, 200915 yr Your photography just keeps getting better and better. These shots were amazing.
September 25, 200915 yr Great shots! Looks like I'll have to break my 25-year absence from the Willis Tower.
September 25, 200915 yr This thread was a home run until that Michigan t-shirt showed up... seriously though, those photos rocked. Thanks!
September 25, 200915 yr When did you take these? I was just in chicago. Rode the Green line to the end of the line. Interesting ride, very interesting.

September 26, 200915 yr Awesome Thread!!!!! Nice to see the Trump Tower done, and seriously, after realizing that I know exactly where you took almost every picture in that set from, I have been spending WAY too much time in Chi-Town recently. This thread is killer awesome!!!!
September 26, 200915 yr I actually didn't have sweet dreams of Chicago last night because I had trouble getting to sleep in the first place. I couldn't stop thinking about Chicago after viewing this thread. Thanks a lot, ColDayMan! ;)
September 28, 200915 yr ^ yeah, chi is just a notch below the clev! jeez, the new trump really looks great in that shot across the river.
September 28, 200915 yr Well Cleveland does have a higher concentration of classical buildings downtown, the most pronounced of any midwestern city. Not at all by number, but the fact that they aren't interspaced by a bunch of pomo atrocities. It's EXTREMELY windy in Chicago today. It was enjoyable watching people trying to keep standing today. I can only imagine the motion sickness up in the Hancock and Sears, ahem Willis
October 5, 200915 yr We all know the northside is really nice, but come on. How is the rest of the city doing? Are the south and west side's revitalizing or is this still a one sided type place?
October 5, 200915 yr ^Milwaukee ties Chicago in public access, in all honesty. Milwaukee's lakefront park system is fantastic. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
October 6, 200915 yr We all know the northside is really nice, but come on. How is the rest of the city doing? Are the south and west side's revitalizing or is this still a one sided type place? Hard to tell. There's also an incredible amount of building on the south and west sides in areas you wouldn't expect, and they aren't cheap buildings either. It all seems very speculative in nature.

Hard to tell. There's also an incredible amount of building on the NEAR south and NEAR west sides in areas you wouldn't expect, and they aren't cheap buildings either. It all seems very speculative in nature. I fixed that for you.

Hard to tell. There's also an incredible amount of building on the NEAR south and NEAR west sides in areas you wouldn't expect, and they aren't cheap buildings either. It all seems very speculative in nature. I fixed that for you. You don't need to fix it, I know what I'm talking about. Since CHA has been knocking down the projects, the need for GOOD affordable housing is in high demand. These aren't crap buildings by any means either. Hell, even Englewood is building units. The fact is this is revitalization to neighborhoods that have seen severe decline. It's not just about gentrification.
