See the following pages for more photographs of this horrid, retched city:

Cincinnati, Ohio

Over-the-Rhine

Downtown

Yes, what a horrendous city.  If only it could get a slavery-Jenga like Luh'vul.

"You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

I'm having difficulty distinguishing actual disparagement from snark and irony.  :?

There is a lot of implied sarcasm in my post, after I had two people tell me that I am a negative Nancy to this fair city :D

I love it when there is stuff happening on the PPB.  That Wine Over Water wine tasting event would be totally badass to do.

Yeah, I think it is a good idea but they really need a third pedway to be open. They haven't said anything (yet) to the cyclists or walkers who go over the bridge every day, but it's become really, really congested for anyone. I have trouble walking across without running into people just standing in the middle of the walkway just chit-chatting as if it is an enclosed building -- when it really is a thoroughfare. The middle sidewalk is way too narrow to bike, let alone walk a bike over.

Wow, what a horrid city. All its residents should pack up and move to a city that has no dilapidated neighborhoods, like New York or Chicago.

It only took two people to lead you to posting this? I have dozens!

Yeah this city does suck.  Why would I want to come all the way from central PA just to see this place?

Actually, Cincinnati looks amazing.  I really wish Williamsport would look at this city and learn from it.

And I definitely have to get a cable release for my camera.  That 6 minute exposure is awesome.

Isn't the P.P.B. private property? That's probably the rationale for not maintaining the ped and cycle traffic smoother. "We can do whatever we want, it's ours."

It's rather disconcerting to be walking on the downslope on that thing and have bikes whizzing by behind you. Even when it's not cluttered up.

I think the sarcasm threw me because the fireworks in the fog were pretty bad.

well, for us it was worse because of the immense difficulty it required to get to the top of our location. Climbing, etc. to get... That.

Well done sarcasm. Yeah, I hate cities with oversized music venues....

I know what you mean....I completely know what you mean.  If it makes you feel any better, I saw a cop today chew out a bunch of pedestrians for blocking the bikes only lane.  They weren't using the pedestrians lane at all.  They nearly caused an accident.

Some really nice places to live!  .... I mean, horrible, just horrible!

I expected this to be photos of Fountain Square.

That is Severance Hall in Cleveland.

... and then there are all those f...ing hills! Give me my Hoosier Flatlands, any day.

And that narrow, noisy suspension bridge! Any progressive city would have replaced it with a six-lane, double-decker without sidewalks by now!

I think you're being melodramatic, and you should learn to both not take constructive criticism so personally and not carry that over to other threads.  I mean, come on, it was in one thread that you ran into some strife about class issues.  You've carried that over to at least two other topics *and* blogged about it.

I knew you'd bite.

Actually, it wasn't you that I was referring to (the two users infrequently post). But thanks for playing. :)

^Please don't start to condescend.  Now we're (somewhat) even, especially since you thought I was from Wisconsin and discounted my every word. :-P

Yeah, I think it is a good idea but they really need a third pedway to be open.

Totally agree.

My new favorite thread!    The 6 ers are some immpressive shots!  Wow!

I was in Cincy a few weeks ago, and the PPB was packed with people and an event going on.  It really sucked, why aren't the cops up there harrassing people to move along...they act like it is a leisure activity or something, not just a way to get from point A to pint B.  Cincinnati needs more bridges with sidewalks so this nightmare can be avoided.

And don't even get me started about my room at the Westin overlooking Fountain square...which had a beer festival, late movies...etc!  What is with you people, can't you just stay home and out of my way.

^Please don't start to condescend. Now we're (somewhat) even, especially since you thought I was from Wisconsin and discounted my every word. :-P

What's wrong with Wisconsin!?!  Are you looking to start a fight?

I ate the Wisconsin Mac and Cheese at Noodles and Co the other day and it was the bomb!

Noodles and Co is my shit.  Seriously that place is SO good.

PSSH!  Well, ya know, that's not the REAL Wisconsin Cheese we're used to hearabouts.  Next time you come to the big city o Milwaukee, we'll getcha some good stuff, eh?

Now, to get back on topic, those fireworks sure do suck.  I have a good friend here in Milwaukee who visits Cincy every year for those fireworks, and she came back this year talking about not going again next year.

Just out of curiosity, how much are some of those lofts going for in OTR?  Are most of them rentals, or are they condos?

I'm just really curious.  It seems like an awesome place to live in.

^

They start at just under 100k and go up to around $400K. None of them currently are rentals, but the next phase is going to include 100 rental units. check out www.gatewayquarter.com and you can see how much the units cost and they have more pictures

What I love about the above lofts is that they are by no means generic.  They negotiate with the existing architecture creatively.

Not sure if u were serious or not but its Severance Hall - Home of the Cleveland Orchestra

hey parking day shots -- cool, thx for those!

Ha ha ... I hate when tourist have a sucky visit.

Sherman, amazing shots man ... I don't know how I missed this thread!

Blue Line, you take everything sooooo serious! lol

Wow...I totally missed the very first post with all those photos.  Love the PARK[ing] Day shots, and especially love the photos of the new OTR construction.  Add in the "gold coast" comment and the photo of the always sexy Big Mac Bridge and you get my nod of approval.  Great stuff Sherman.

They need to illuminate the Mac Bridge!!!

^Agreed! It'd be kind of sick if they put like neon for the entire archway haha.  I know that would never happen, but how cool would that be.

Chicago has no dilapidated neighborhoods. Ha Ha :-D

I really like those new condos!  I love the shower too, not for the extra capacity but for all the natural light.

FINALLY a thread that proves Cincinnati sucks.  Great shots!
