Inspired by the Ken Burn's show on PBS, starting a thread on the NPS

 

Now, a trivia question: We all Know that Yellowstone was America's 1st National Park named, but what was the second? (Hint, its not a NP anymore)

 

 

I'm thinking Mackinac National Park?

 

I love Ken Burn's documentaries. I went to KET's station in Lexington to watch the premiere and to meet Dave Shuffett.

Yeah it was Mackinaw Island NP, it only lasted 20 years

Just got back from trip to Bryce Canyon N.P., Zion N.P., Grand Canyon N.P. (north rim), and Glen Canyon N.R.A. (and Scottsdale).

 

Bryce is now my favorite N.P.  The hoodoos are an amazing sight, especially near sunset.
