October 28, 200915 yr ColDay! I love this one: http://www.urbanohio.com/UOThreads/2009/Pittsburgh/09OctPittsburgh13.jpg Great photos, good looking town, awful football fans. Did you ride the inclines?
October 28, 200915 yr Nah, I've done it many times before but I just took the good ole' Saturn ;). "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
October 28, 200915 yr Great pics. Of all the cities I've lived in / visited / passed through, Pittsburgh is the one that reminds me the most of Cincinnati. Cincy has a better skyline, IMO, but at least Pittsburgh has rail transit.
October 28, 200915 yr Easily one of America's most underrated cities IMO. Really enjoyed the shots from some of the neighborhoods, thanks!
October 28, 200915 yr Just there about a month ago! Really wonderful city, Pittsburgh is doing so much right these days.
October 28, 200915 yr Really wonderful city, Pittsburgh is doing so much right these days. Agreed... great shots, Col! You did a great job capturing the topographic city.
October 28, 200915 yr Awesome pics! The fountain is actually supposed to be pink, for breast cancer awareness month. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
November 16, 200915 yr I've only visited Pittsburgh three times, but can't understand why people are still moving away from the city. A transformed local economy on the upswing and some great, great architecture. Why don't people appreciate what they have?
November 16, 200915 yr Im actually impressed. I fly to a lot of cities but never see them. PIT seems to have urban density and street life.
November 23, 200915 yr Some great photos of a great city! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
November 23, 200915 yr the pitts is anything but! hmm early valentines day celebration?...or yikes was there a zombie attack in the fountain?!! :-o
December 1, 200915 yr Beautiful views, dense neighborhoods, great transportation system, city funded Zipcars, plenty of history, quirky museums, world class institutions, diversified economy, quality parks, awesome public art, suburban shopping outlets at street level (Note the Sephora store above), great sports teams, reasonable weather... ...seriously, why are people leaving?
December 1, 200915 yr Really great photos. One thing that I think really stands out about Pittsburgh are all of the bridges. There's so many of them and they come in all different varieties.
December 3, 200915 yr Awesome shots! Concerning Pittsburgh's declining population, I believe it's not quite as high as it used to be when manufacturing was really taking a hit in the 80's. But the city isn't a magnet for domestic migration or immigrants, and birth rates have declined as a result of the time when young people/young families were really fleeing the city en masse. That's my assessment anyway. As far as the fountain goes, it was probably dyed pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A couple of fountains here in Charlotte were dyed pink in October as well.
December 23, 200915 yr Love, love, love what Pittsburgh's got going on for itself, but Pitt's housing stock certainly isn't one of their high points. Oy to that Appalachian influence.
