November 9, 200915 yr Looks great! There is a series of aerial photos of the arena here at the Toledo: Downtown Arena project construction thread in the Completed Projects section. I like how well integrated the arena is into the downtown urban context.
November 9, 200915 yr Really like it. Seems like an intimate seating bowl which reminds me of the arenas of old. Also like the way it addresses the street and the city on the outside rather than some big plaza fronting it (like you tend to see in the south).
November 9, 200915 yr I especially want to see the third level outdoor patios. I've heard the third level (that's where the fancy stuff is located) is off limits for general admission ticket holders. Is this true? If so, that's bullsh!t, since this is a publicly-funded, municipal arena. The taxpayers have the right to explore and see all the high-class, upper crust stuff built into this arena. I don't know if I would go that far... The gateway complexes (progressive field and quicken loans arena) were publicly funded, and there's tons of places cheap seat holders can't go.
November 9, 200915 yr Don't care for the exterior; it looks like a parking garage masquerading as a real building even though it is. I'd much rather see a streetcar, but sadly there's not nearly as much support and that certainly doesn't apply only to Toledo.
November 10, 200915 yr Nice-looking facility, inside and out. As others mentioned, it's good to have it downtown and not in some outlying suburban sprawl.
November 14, 200915 yr The outside almost reminds of like a mini-nationwide arena. This is the perfect size for an ECHL hockey team, not to mention the new modern amenities make it look really, really great. The only thing I don't like is that the scoreboard (is it a big tv or a projection screen?) is at the end of the arena, I think a center scoreboard suspended from the ceiling would've been better.
November 16, 200915 yr Looks great. The old sports arena that I was in long ago was absolutely horrible. Good for Toledo!!

I was wondering about the center scoreboard screens as well ... it looks like they still might get one, check out the overhead frame above the ice. See how it looks like it was designed to hold something heavy. Is this finished yet, for sure? Nice addition and like Rob pointed out, it's great this was built DT.

Oh, come on now. :) It certainly wasn't as nice as this one or a modern one, but you can't beat old hockey barns like the Toledo Sports Arena: http://www.ohiourbex.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=2147 The outside almost reminds of like a mini-nationwide arena. Yeah, I see what you're saying. I kind of hope that they do.
