Some decent buildings scattered around the town. The courthouse is a beauty.

The city is one of my favorites in that region. Do you know what the other pottery cities are?

Well done.

If you've been following my threads, this belt includes Crooksville, Roseville, and Zanesville, although there are other cities with pottery/ceramic histories (like East Liverpool as mentioned).

The building on the corner in this picture was the former site of my grandfathers meat market/grocery. My dad remembers that people would often stop there on their way through town (pre-70) to ask for directions. His favorite questions include:

"Where do we go to continue on Rt 40 west" to which they would reply, "Go to the middle of the bridge and turn left." and the people would get angry.

the other classic;

"Do the mountains get worse as you go east?"

aside from the famous y-bridge there is lots of interesting architecture around there to ponder over.

this one is quite a neat example -- kind of a house facade fronting a large apt building.

I bet that was a single family home at once.  That contraption on the porch looks like a 60/70s addition that was "updated" at some point.

One of my favorite courthouses, very impressive at night too.

That court house reminds me of Butler County's for some reason.
