Posted December 1, 200915 yr The forum will be down tonight 12/1/2009 after midnight for a substantial update.
December 2, 200915 yr Things are are looking all squished on my computer now. I don't know if it's the theme I'm using or if you're still working on updates, but I just thought I'd let you know :).
December 2, 200915 yr The new look is much brighter and pastel! Was there any major change in functionality?
December 2, 200915 yr Whoa... Looks nice overall. Some people's signatures are showing up a bit wonky in Safari, but they seem to look ok in Firefox. Here's a screenshot.
December 2, 200915 yr Let me know how everyone likes the new theme. Note, the old theme is still available if you wish to switch back. CBC: There are no huge steps in functionality, mostly cosmetic.
December 2, 200915 yr Having the same signature/squishing problem in Chrome. Seems fine in Firefox and Opera.
December 2, 200915 yr Whoa, big change since my last post. I love this :) On FF3, the width is so wide that I now have a horizontal scroll.
December 2, 200915 yr Sherman: that is due to the large picture posted. I too find it annoying and have set the forum width to the max yet this theme doesnt seem to use the setting.
December 2, 200915 yr The Signatures for a few posts are showing up kinda wonky on my antique version of IE at work. Kinda squished. The screen seems too wide now too. Other than that I like the change.
December 2, 200915 yr I'm also having the horizontal scroll bar, which I think is being caused by the signature issue... The large image above is in its own box with its own scroll bar, and shouldn't impact the rest of the page. (As you can see in the screenshot, the horizontal scroll bar was there before I posted the image.)
December 2, 200915 yr *doh* I was confused as to why I couldn't see LIG's screenshot in Chrome. I found it an entire screen off to the right, hehe.
December 2, 200915 yr Looks awesome, but I too am having a problem with the sig compression. Other than that, It looks good!! I should note that I am using the most updated version of safari.
December 2, 200915 yr I think we need to not allow images in signatures over 100 pixles wide. That should fix the problem.
December 2, 200915 yr I tried a fix that should hopefully fix the signature overrun issue. Let me know how it looks with chrome and opera.
December 2, 200915 yr Still having issues in Safari. Weird thing is, it doesn't seem consistent on the same page, or even on the same signature. On this page, Sherman's, CBC's, and DJ Orion's signatures are offset to one side, while mine looks fine. On the Cincinnati Streetcar thread, thomasbw's signature looks fine on one post, but is offset to one side in the very next post.
December 2, 200915 yr Still not working. Looks almost like there's a line break tag missing from somewhere between the message text and the beginning of the signature portion on some posts. ETA: I suspect the problem occurs somewhere in the code just before the "Report to Moderator" and "Logged" text of the post... Even without a signature, on some posts it looks like that stuff is trying to cram itself onto the same line as the message text.
December 2, 200915 yr I like the new theme a lot! The old one was good, but a change from time to time is refreshing. This one looks bright and cheery to me.

Here's a screen shot. If I use the default theme, things look fine (IE7, WinXP), so I'll probably just switch back to that.
December 2, 200915 yr Can't say I'm a fan of the new design but to each his own. If the old is still available as you said, can you tell me how to switch to it?
December 2, 200915 yr Only difference between my old version and this is I'm seeing about a half inch border margin on the left and right, which is creating the 'squished' effect. Also, as I'm typing this I'm noticing that my line break occurs about a half inch past where the text is visible, leaving the last word of each line invisible while I'm typing. Edit: Looks ok after I post So you know, I'm using IE 6 at work
December 2, 200915 yr Can't say I'm a fan of the new design but to each his own. If the old is still available as you said, can you tell me how to switch to it? Go to your profile, then "Looks & Layout," then pick "Core." I also do not care for this "new" design but RichNCincy said he's going to make the "Core" look like the old one. December 2, 200915 yr I'm back to Core. Problems resolved...other than the fact that my beautiful silver stars have been replaced with red 'x' s :x

"Core" was not one of the choices?
December 2, 200915 yr It should've been towards the bottom of choices. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
December 2, 200915 yr user error; I didn't understand the instructions at first. Back to the original look now, thanks!
December 2, 200915 yr Only other gripe I have...I'm using 'Core' now, but I noticed that in the photo threads that the photos no longer fit entirely on screen, whereas previously most of them did (larger photos required scrolling). Also, where the photos extend past the screen, so does the text. My screen res is 1024x768.
December 2, 200915 yr Yeah, there are tons of issues with "Core." But Rich said he'd fix that stuff in a day or two. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
December 3, 200915 yr First thing I did was set everything back to "Babylon". clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
December 3, 200915 yr The "Urban Ohio" logo at the top used to link to www.urbanohio.com...now it links to the forum home page: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php Not sure if that was an intended change, but thought I would point it out.

December 3, 200915 yr I went back to core, it seems wider than before, but I am totally fine with that.
February 12, 201114 yr Just to let everyone know, I am going to update the forum to 2.0 RC 4 late tomorrow (2/13/2011). So the forum will be down starting around 5-6 pm EST. Depending on how everything goes, it will be live again hopefully by the following morning/afternoon.
February 14, 201114 yr I like the new look. I am using Safari and the page does not refresh after posting, it caused me a tiny bit of confusion.
February 14, 201114 yr I like the look of the update, but the quote button and quick reply aren't working for me in chrome.
February 14, 201114 yr Wow! I haven't tried any of the features yet, but at first glance I like! I have a 26-inch monitor with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, and the text size with the old layout challenged my eyes unless I zoomed my browser screen to 150%. With this version, the home page is entirely readable and full-screen without enlarging. Thanks! Edit: "Quote" and "Insert Quote" and "Preview" seem not to work. "Preview" hangs endlessly at "fetching preview ..." It's possible to work around that; Modify and Post work OK.
