Posted July 29, 200420 yr Okay, so I patched this thread together from a couple of days - details! The weather has been on/off so here's what I've seen on my jaunts around downtown: Strolled over to the AT Tower garage at East 9th and Prospect - it ain't a pretty structure but it has some great (or not so great if you look at AT Tower itself) views! Back down to street level, this used to be a neglected patch of sidewalk and patchy grass - it's being turned into a small park (aka Medical Mutual Plaza) - a nice touch for the area residents - bit of trivia - Chef Hector Boiardi (Boy-Ar-Dee) got his start in the building in the upper right: Making my way back on Prospect, there's the Pointe building with the Winking Lizard Tavern on the first floor and the Cleveland Urban Design Center on the second floor (an architecture/urban planning collaborative of northeast Ohio's four major state universities): The building behind the Pointe was once apartments - it's now being offered as for-sale condos and there happened to be an open house (one bedrooms start at $80K): Sample views from models: Do my eyes deceive me? Nope - it's the first new construction on Euclid Avenue between Playhouse Square and Public Square since I can remember (okay so it's just a parking deck but hey, it's above street level now!): A quick run down East 6th - catching a glimpse of the Leader Building: Further north over to West 6th at Lakeside: And finally down to the Flats: In case you didn't know why it's called the Swing Bridge: Hope you enjoyed :) clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
July 29, 200420 yr Nice shots. BTW that Medical Mutual Park is goign to be WiFi so you can get your internet connection on should you choose to. Also some nice shots of Stonebridge.
July 29, 200420 yr lol i love the swing bridge and these photos are awesome i think you've outdone me with the obscure views haha and AT Tower reminds me of that North Korean hotel that was never finished
July 29, 200420 yr Flawless post, but you knew that from the get go. Godayva. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

July 30, 200420 yr Dayum!! Great shots! Something out of the ordinary! Looks like someone played a little fast & loose with their Roman numerals here: :)
July 30, 200420 yr I know the Execs at Medical Mutual (whom occupy the Rose building) and they have GREAT views of DT and some windows perfectly frame the BIG 3. Ill head down tomarrow and get some pictures from up their and the lobby which is quite nice.
July 30, 200420 yr Idle hands, a restless mind and Photoshop conspired to produce this altered-state view of the Swing Bridge:
July 30, 200420 yr http://zaceman.com/LJ/7-29-04/red1.jpg"> The swing bridge is awesome They should put one in place more north of the red one as well
July 30, 200420 yr rob and zaceman those are great shots of the Swing Bridge! I love the noise it makes as you drive on it - sort of 'announces' that you're entering/leaving the West Bank! And it looks like I forgot to post a pic - the big guys from Lakeside: clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
July 30, 200420 yr I went downtown today and got pics of everything from the Pinnacle to Stonebridge to the Euclid Ave Garage and of course the INTL. Childerens game. Im uploading all 238 pics now. DT was looking good today.
August 1, 200420 yr "Don't eat the brown acid...." Huh? Wha'? Oh, wow, man, like, I totally forgot  !
August 1, 200420 yr Why do some think Cleveland and St. Louis are very similar? I don't see endless streets of abandonment. Very Nice!
March 30, 200619 yr I felt the urge to bring this thread back to life....it is an oldie, but goodie :-D
March 30, 200619 yr Good job Uncle. I hadn't seen this thread. My favorite pic is below. Neat photo composition, with cool angles and a visual linkage between the CBD and the neighborhoods (it also shows that downtown really is a neighborhood and not just a place where people work). March 30, 200619 yr Thanks for bringin this one back...I never saw it in the first place! It's perfect, too, because it's actually warm enough today to be walking around in short-sleeves. Weeee!
March 30, 200619 yr Well if I take more pics today at lunch, I'll just add them here :-) clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
March 30, 200619 yr Now I can be erased in Magyar's head as the one bringing threads back from the dead. Great pics, but that building at the corner in the second pic from the models makes me gag.
March 31, 200619 yr Ink, you mean this picture? And do you mean the building in the lower left? If so, that was built as a comedy club several years ago but was never used. Looks like a nightclub is going in there now.... "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
