These are not mine, and if this should be moved to the Urbanbar, my apologies.

Some friends in Columbus send college kids overseas on study abroad programs and have a photo contest each semester.  Internet votes (one could say unfortunately) determine the winner and so far one particular entrant is dominating the voting due to aggressive campaigning.  The winner of this thing gets an iPod nano and there were some really good photos this year, so it would be nice to get some more "neutral" votes.  http://www.athenaabroad.com/promotions/photo_contest_fall_2009/index.php

No. 3 & no. 8 are fabulous.  No's 1, 2, 7 and 10 are down right dreadful and shouldn't be included!

I mostly agree, except that I like #2 (although I would like it more if there wasn't a person in the photo).  #8 is my favorite, though.

I voted for number 3 and honestly feel it's the best.

Personally I don't see how #8 is winning. It's a photo of a tree on an overcast day. Neat.

I like the closeup of the single tree set against the vast background.  Also, I like how the colors are varied, yet unsaturated.  I don't know how to put it in words I guess.  I just like it.

Came down to 2, 6, and 8 for me.  Ended up going with #2.  I'm not a photog... I just thought the colors were beautiful and the image was crisp.  The way the color fades to black near the bottom of the image makes it feel like the photographer is looking in from the outside.  Gives is a voyeuristic feel.  Interesting photo IMO.

3 for me.  Where is that??  I had no idea places like that existed.

2 and 7 might have received some consideration if the dudes were not standing in the way of a decent nature shot.

Northern Italy IIRC.

Looks like Cinque Terre (N Italy).  Do a google image search and you will see some pretty great looking towns.  I am considering a trip there next year.

i voted #10. they did a good job catching that gimmicky but still fetching shot.

Agreed on all counts

Here are the descriptions for each photo:

1.) Study abroad students Kembly Cerdas and Donald Miller hold on tight as their camel stands up, getting ready to take them on a breathtaking tour of the Giza pyramids. This picture was taken on a trip to Cairo, Egypt on November 13th, 2009 during the Tour of Italy's break between Rome and Florence.

2.) Tour of Italy study abroad student Donald Miller hikes through the hills of Tuscany outside of Florence, discovering a hidden orchard of olive trees. This photo was taken on November 27, 2009.

3.) This photo was taken Saturday, September 26th on a school trip to the fishing village of Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre. It is a photo stitch of three separate photos that are merged together to create a panoramic image.

4.) Photo taken at Samos, Greece, features Annie Marcum, Brooke Stevenson, and Kyle Olson.

5.) Brooke Stevenson takes a leap off of a Santorini cliff into the sea.

6.) A classic blue-domed church overlooks the sunset, as a boat cruises through the area.

7.) A breathtaking view of Granada at Sunset from atop the city's ancient walls.

8.) A lonely, gnarley tree overlooks a valley in Glendaloch, Ireland.

9.) Going back to childhood at the Boboli Gardens.  The photo was taken on November afternoon in Florence.

The people in photo include Alison Hatfield, Katie Dosen and Abby Kinzel.

10.) The October 14th sunset over the Greek island sparkles through the clouds, onto the balcony.

My favorites are 2 and 10

I vote three, then 10. Everything else just looks like typical vacation shots.
