Chick-fil-A, Five Guys Burgers top fast-food ranking list

 

When it comes to good service, friendly staff and the like among fast-food restaurants, Chick-fil-A Inc. and Five Guys Burgers and Fries are the best, according to the results of a survey of more than 3,000 consumers by Louisville, Ky.-based Market Force Information. With restaurants indexed by market share size, Five Guys had a score of 14.4 percent, while Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A placed second with 12.5 percent.

I refuse to give my money to Chick-fil-A, but I could eat Five Guys everyday. IMO, they're the best of any fast-food chain. (My California friends swear by In-n-Out, but I've never had it, so I'll have to take their word for it.)

 

Five Guys is based in the Washington DC area, and has locations mainly up and down the East Coast. I know they have at least one location in Cincinnati, but I'm not sure about the rest of Ohio.

Well they are located in the heart of the bible belt - ATL.  I must admit their chicken nuggets are delish!

They're out of DC but they're everywhere, Calvin. They basically just have burgers and fries. The place is as American as it gets. Obama loves 5 guys and they've become really popular since he was seen there.

Five Guys > In-N-Out Burger and I've had both plenty of times.

I wish we had a Jack in the Box or Whataburger in Cleveland. I used to eat there like it was my job at Arizona State.

And FYI, Dayton has two (with two more opening).  Columbus has several and I'm sure Cleveland area does.

I think just one in Metro Cleveland.  There were a few on the Eastside.

I think there are 3 Five Guys now.  I've eaten there twice, didn't care for it. There is a heated debate in the foodie world on Five Guys vs. In-N-Out; you're either firmly in one camp or the other.  I'm on the In-N-Out side.  Unfortunately (for my taste buds) and fortunately (for my waistline), we don't have any in our half of the country.

I've only eaten Jack-in-the-Box once, and I thought it was worse than Burger King. I should've gone to the McDonald's across the street.

Five Guys is excellent - there is one in Strongsville, Rocky River, North Olmsted, and over near Chargrin/Richmond. 

 

It is GREAT!  It's hard to explain why they are so good...but if you enjoy cheeseburgers - give it a try and i guarantee you'll be suprised on how good it is!  Definitely would NOT compare it to in-n-out burgers, rally's, etc.  It's not that "fast" fast-food and much more $$$

When eating at Five Guys, the "Little Burger" is enough for most people, and you can split a regular order of fries with at least one other person.

^^Also Lakewood, Westlake and Avon.  Within the last year or so they've opened one in every suburb on the (real) westside.

 

I don't care for their religious views, but chick-fil-a is by far the best fast food.  The best chicken sandwich and real ice cream milkshakes.  There is nothing worse than going to get some chick-fil-a, getting there and realizing that its sunday and its closed.

 

In-n-Out's burgers are great, but their fries are horrendous.

A Five Guys opened just down the block from our local version, Graffiti Burger, in 5th x NW. Reminds me how Starbucks opened most of their locations right near our Cup O Joes. Had both burgers and ours is definitely better, however the first time the fries weren't nearly as good, but the second time I went the fries were also better. For cheap burgers, I'll go for a Rally's burger every now and then and also am not against some WC sliders and a sack of (fresh) fries.

 

I never had Chick-Fil-A, but one did open on a new strip-mall area nar my parents' place. How does it stack up to Popeye's?

its alright, the sandwiches are ok and they have waffle fries. doesnt really compare to popeyes. nothing beats popeyes for fast food fried chicken.

I like KFC's chicken better but Popeyes has the best sides imo. I like that their food is spicy. The biscuits are really good too. Overall my favorite fast food place is Chipotle.

Rally's!!!  If you're in Beijing ever hit up Let's Burger and if you ever go to Shanghai definitely try Malone's.  I'm partial to the one in Thumb Plaza because of the crazy amount of space, spread out and just dig in.

I enjoy in-N-out, 5 guys, Chik-fil-A, Wendy's, and Mickey D's. I hate BK, and wish we had in-N-out and el Pollo Loco here in Cincy. You really can't compare Chik-fil-A and Popeyes because the chicken is a different style in my opinion. Popeyes and KFC are more competition for each other. I'll take Popeyes chicken and biscuits and KFC mac&cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy. Delish.

Bojangles and Lee's both destroy Popeyes, particularly in chicken.  Popeye's actual chicken ain't that good but it's sides (re: biscuit) are great though they ain't go nuthin' on Bojangles. 

Calvin, there's a Five Guys in Toledo now too. I went a few weeks ago and LOVED it. I never got the craze for In'n'Out (which has Bible verses on its wrappers). I bet that burger and fries had 1500 calories, at least.

I enjoy laughing at people who refuse to eat at Chick-fil-A because they're owned and operated by religious people almost as much as I enjoy the delicious sandwiches. 

If I'm in the mood to give money to a religious organization, I'll give it to my own church when they pass around the collection plate, rather than some corporation that beats its employees over the head with a Bible as a condition for working there.

....aha, that explains why the ones here in suburban Dayton are so packed.  Suburbia here is right wing fundyland to the max, so the locals are homing right in.  I guess the place comes highly recommened by the local preachers.

I did try the Five Guys.  Basic largish burgers/cheesburgers but tons of fries.  I think they overload you with fries.

 

 

 

 

If you like the food, eat there.  If you don't, stay away.  Who really cares what the employer is doing with his employees if the employees aren't complaining?

Anyway, I'm old school on this as I still like KFC original recipe chicken (the seasoning really is good, IMO).  And a bit of local brand loyalty since it's based in Louisville.  Louisville was also the home of Long John Silvers (sort of a local street food gone national..deep fried fish places are like chili in Cincy), and Ralley (run out of Louisville for a while but started elsewhere), and Papa John pizza (not my favorite, and not the best in Lou either).

It's got nothing to do with right-wing stuff.  I see black folks working and goin' to Chick-Fil-A all the time and they want nothing to do with that mess.  And I even see "hipsters" and left-wing hardcore folks go to Chick-Fil-A.  It's popular because it's good; not many people know about the religious aspect of it.

It might have more to do than you are willing to admit.  I guess I could count fish symbols and WWJD stickers on the cars in the drive-through....

When I go to Chick-Fil-A at the one next to the Walgreens on 725, I don't ever see that fish/WWJD stuff.  All I see are a bunch of spoiled kids jumping in the playpin, Shaniqua getting herself a #2, and Jenny and Stacy coming back from the Dayton Mall in a Lexus.  I'm sure if you polled most people that go to Chick-Fil-A, they wouldn't know (or care) about the religious affiliation.

And maybe diners should decide to cook their own food one day a week!  It'd be a lot healthier than eating that fast food sh!t for every meal.  And, yes, it's pretty much all sh!t.
