A Dutch investment group says it has purchased a pro soccer franchise that will be in Dayton. The Dayton Dutch Lions FC is slated to play in a developmental league of the United Soccer Leagues in 2010. The team will play is one of the developmental league’s eight divisions along with teams such as Cincinnati, Cleveland and Chicago.

Mossel declined to say where the team would be playing because it only has a verbal deal for a site and that an agreement should be finalized next month. The team’s owners hope to eventually move the team into higher tiers of the United Soccer League, maybe even turning it into a Major League Soccer franchise in the Dayton/Cincinnati area, he said.

Lets keep it simple.  "Go Dutch in Dayton".  Clogs, tulips, etc. This is SW Ohio, you've got to know who your audience is.  It needs to make visual sense to those (slow) folks.

It wouldnt work, we already have Columbus Crew and Cleveland City Stars in the state
