^Agreed.

Atlanta has good nightlife, shopping, restaurants, and some cool skyscrapers, but it seems kind of randomly put together, and lacking any sense of urban cohesion.

CDM...In the future please contact me so I can give you REAL restaurant recommendations.  Mary Macs?  Negro Please! ::) ::) ::) ::)

I see you went right down the gay hoe stroll.  You didn't stop a the flying biscuit?  You were right in front of it.  Their food is awesome.  I pray you didn't go into Bulldogs when you took that shot of Vickerys!

Atlanta had good nightlife, Lenox Mall & Phipps plaza have the same crap you can find in any mall.  However, there are way to many malls in ATL along with a bunch of some 90s style empty sckyscrapers.

For Christ sakes it's the South?  What do you expect?!

Based on the pictures, I might actually prefer Dallas. A lot of this modern sh!t in Atlanta has a lifestyle center vibe. While it certainly seems more urban than Charlotte, Atlanta looks shockingly sterile, and well, suburban. Where is the grit?

And that tall cylinder skyscraper looks EXACTLY like Ren Cen in Detroit. Is there a connection? Did Atlanta just snake that design?

Ren Center and Westin Peachtree plaza look nothing alike.  However the Westin Bonaventure in LA and the Ren Center could be twins.

Oh, but thanks for taking the tour....I appreciate it.

The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Renaissance Center, and Westin Bonaventure were all designed by Atlanta-based John Portman. Same with the Atlanta Marriott Marquis (the massive belly-of-a-whale atrium space shown above) and the rest of Peachtree Center.

I know that but, Ren Center and the Westin B are multiple cylinders and the WPC is only one.  So to me they dont look alike.  Unfortunately I have to look at that mess of broken windows from my office!  Granted, they are replacing all the windows.

A). I didn't even know that area and no, I didn't go into any of those bars though Randy told me about them.

B). Negra please.  Mary Mac's had the BOMB ass mac n' cheese and ribs.  "HO SIT DOWN!"

You listened to Randy?  Mistake Numero Uno!  Lawd!  Didn't the Greece thread prove he is not a trusted source?  :wtf:

Mary Mac's is disgusting!  Blandy salty old folks food!  Next time you want good food in a particular city, ask me first.

Lastly, Negrodian, I got your Ho!  Aiight!  Ya damn come platano!  What?!

Great Shots CoolDay!  That's again for sharing...

I'd have to say that after looking at the street grid in Downtown Atlanta that it is utterly confusing and lacks cohesion.  There also seems to be lots of confusion in the city were residential neighborhoods begin and were downtown ends.  But I have to say some of the modern skyscrapers are pretty awesome!!  Now following inline with my Dallas question.  Are there a whole lot of urban neighborhoods in Atlanta?  From what I saw outside of the core there were a couple of woodframe neighborhoods (I visited the MLK center or Spring Break last year)

Heffa, you better respect Mary Mac's Mac N Cheese.  Old folks food can be good and it's a timeless, CLASSIC institution much like your precious Shaker Square...just more delicious.  Ya catch what I'm pitchin', Martinez?

Streetcar-suburban is more like it.  Virginia-Highlands, Little Five Points, and Buckhead are quasi-urban areas with nice single-family housing in all varieties.  Are they "northern" urban, no.  But they are walkable, yes.

In the southern portion of ATL there are.  However, all most all the neighborhoods built or developed in the 70's and after are all subdivided.

It's a complete mess.

Mary Mac's is no better than monkey crap on a Cracker!

I like classic foods, but it needs to be GOOD classic food.  I'm not a fan of the South, but there are better restaurants in Atlanta.  ROOM, Garrisons, South City Kitchen, Two Urban Licks, Atlanta Fish Market, Blue Pointe, Strip (the sushi is awful), Park 75, TAP, 30 tables and Aquaknox are to name a few.

Next time ask a brotha, not Randy!  Pendajo!

Well, I enjoyed it and so did many BLACK folks at the joint, Marc Anthony.

You have no taste!  And address me as Don Xavier Marceliano Arroyo - Bitch!

I have no taste?  Coming from a man living in Shaker Square, I'll take that and Shake It Off like Mariah.

Yeah shake it off like Mariah in Glitter!  How you doin?!

You just love to hate on SS.  SS residents are use to negative comments by insignificant ankle biters in low tax brackets.

Jim_stfu-big.jpg

Yeah, I'm sure these chickens are reelin' in Yves Saint Laurent and Ferragamo Salvatore.

They were visiting.  They are not residents of the neighborhood.  We're open to all, that is what makes SS a great neighborhood and destination!

I don't see anyone out taking photos in your 'hood!

Oh.....and the next time you drop a luxury brand and try to out Queen me, get the name right, sweetie!

You coloured people never learn.

NEXT!

RACIST!!!  And they were getting OFF the Rapid to go HOME in SHAKER SQUARE.  You know, that "luxurious" place with Next, Michael's Diner, and Ace Cash Express.

I'm not a racist, I'm just better than you!

The shack on the tracks is legendary and MUCH better than Mary Mac's!

BLASPHEMY!!!  You Mexican Celia Cruz!

Oh Dear.  You've gone senile as you're confusing me with Avogadro!

Glad your shots turned out well.  I haven't had time to go through mine yet, but I can only hope they came close to yours in terms of quality.

As for the "gay hoe stroll," that's my neighborhood in ATL...so yes he got the full tour.  Another great food place that I checked out over this past weekend was Silk (shown here).  Expensive, but worth every penny.  The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable.

I don't like that place, I think Spice is better I might even like Nickiemotos better.  Silk sound like a gentlemans club.  LOL

One of my staff members lived in the metropolis in a tiny ass 1 bedroom which was really a studio.  Tiny and problematic.

I'll be sure to check out Spice and Nickiemotos then.  I live just a few blocks away from there in the Cornerstone building on Peachtree Street.

You straight kids love living amongst the gays.  Sheesh!  What is up with that?!

Stay out of Glady's, er I mean KNIGHTS chicken and waffles!  That crap!

Be sure to check out the Flying Biscuit.  I love their chicken sausage. And since you like GREECE so much be sure to check out Gilberts Cafe (the brunch is pretty good) and the outwrite bookstore.  LMAO!

Oh...I've been to the Flying Biscuit many times, with this past Saturday morning being the most recent.  You should shoot me a message next time your in town.

I'm rarely there overnight.  I usually come in the morning.  Hop on the train and head to the "fortress", in meeting, then back home.  I fear if I stay in the South for more than 24 hours, I might say "yall" and my family would disown me.
