Posted December 26, 200915 yr I am going up to Cleveland today for the Browns game and staying at the Double Tree on Lakeshore. We will only be up there for this afternoon, evening and then tomorrow morning. Any suggestions for what I should do? I have heard the Great Lakes Brewpub is good.
December 26, 200915 yr Great Lakes Brewery (gotta have the Christmas Ale!!) Also, what might interest you: E. 4th street Public Square Christmas lights/Tower City "A Christmas Story" House http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/ Also...if you reeeally want to strech your time monday: University Circle (FREE Cleveland Museum of Art, Little Italy) Tailgating is usually done in the Muni lot, W. 6th and E. 4th, FYI. Too bad you're only here for such a short while, but have fun at the game. And stay warm!
December 26, 200915 yr I second the suggestion to head over to the West 25th/Lorain Ohio City area. Stop in and see the West Side Market if you have a chance; it's open til 6. You could have dinner there (GLBC, Bier Markt/Bar Cento, Old Angle, Flying Fig, Touch Supper Club, Johnny Mango's, Momocho, etc.) and stay in the neighborhood for drinks as well (Bier Markt, Speakeasy (basement of Bier Markt), Garage Bar, and all of the dinner places mentioned above) In very general terms.......if you're downtown tonight, West 6th is a better option if you like a "clubbier" atsmophere. East 4th is more eating/casual drinking atmosphere, maybe even slightly "older". That being said, there are options in both areas that fit both descriptions and you can always walk from one area to the other in ~10 minutes. If you have more specific desires, post them and you'll get good suggestions.
December 26, 200915 yr It is just across the river from downtown. If you head over there, maybe just poke your head inside the west side market which is right there on the other side of w 25. Kind of a weird day for touristy stuff though... day after xmas and wet. But you r staying very close to both the rock hall and the science center if either are your thing. I believe that the rock hall still has its springstein exhibit going and glsc has some sort of water exhibit. For nightlife, you can stay right downtown. Should be plenty of action tonight. Everything you may want is down there - restaraunts, bars, sofa lounges, dance clubs, strip clubs, music venues, etc

December 26, 200915 yr Did the market, very cool. At bier markt now. Where to go in Ohio city for dinner?
December 26, 200915 yr Check out Light Bistro at W28th & Bridge Avenue, or Flying Fig across from Great Lakes Brewery on Market Avemue (just south of Lorain and W25th. ABC The Tavern and the rest of the bars on W25th (including Bier Markt) are sure to be jumping later tonight. Tremont is also a quick cab ride from Ohio City. Start off at Flying Monkey (Jefferson Ave & Professor) or Lava Lounge (Auburn Ave & W14th) and then talk to the bartenders on where to head next.
December 26, 200915 yr Thanks for all the advice. We are at great lakes, if anyone shows up before we leave I will buy you a beer. Look for the UC. Apparel
