Posted January 1, 201015 yr Between Terry's Turf Club, Arnold's Bar and Grill and Fountain Square, I wandered all around Cincinnati celebrating New Years. Below are photographs from the celebration at Fountain Square, where over 200 braved the cold and the winds to ring in the new year!
January 1, 201015 yr What an excellent public venue for fireworks. Fountain square is a win in my book
January 1, 201015 yr Was the countdown accurate this time? "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
January 2, 201015 yr There were a lot more than 200 people on the square. At least 500, and surely at least 1,000 on the square and in the nearby bars.

January 2, 201015 yr You missed me. I was on the ice when you were taking these. I had a great time down there in Cincy, and I'm sorry that I missed meeting up with anyone. Thanks for the pics. PS - Those lights on Vine are obnoxiously bright.
January 2, 201015 yr Yeah they are! I ended up moving behind the fountain to block out one of the lights that was aimed right at me!
January 4, 201015 yr You were probably in Mynt, you lush. Ha ha ... no, but I was standing on the balcony of Bootsy's freezing my a$$ off when these were going off. ;) btw, these photos are amazing, shermz.
January 4, 201015 yr You were probably in Mynt, you lush. Nope, that's where I was though...dancing the night away. But yeah, way more than 200 people on FS. There were more than 200 inside of Mynt Martini which is about 1/10th the size of FS and both saw comparable clusters of people. I loved the atmosphere of Mynt Martini with all the open glass walls. Lots of people would walk by and look in at the people dancing/drinking inside of Mynt as they were out on the Square or walking through the enclosed walkway to 6th Street.

What's funny about this quote is that this is something that I've scratched my head about a number of times ... I feel like some fist-timers may not go in because they're afraid of what the atmosphere might be like when they would've enjoyed it and two, it just makes it look more livelier. McCormick and Shmicks is a great example ... the place looks dead until you go in (during winter).
