January 6, 201015 yr ok -- the bleach blond used to be hot, well her dad thought so, but she got fat and the other one used to have a big nose. then thankfully they both disappeared.
January 6, 201015 yr One of the reasons that the Simpsons is successful is that Springfield's people are small-town archetypes. You have Barney, the alcoholic; the comic book store geek; Apu, the Indian convenience store owner; local celebrity 'Krusty the Clown"; evil local billionaire/entrepreneur Mr. Burns, Auto, the stoner school bus driver, etc. etc.

As in "My name's Otto, I like to get blotto!"

January 6, 201015 yr Auto, the stoner school bus driver, etc. etc. WOW! That is scary, even for you David!!

I love the pint sized Queen!
January 6, 201015 yr I sure love Stewie too. He touches my tiny dark side. But I also really liked the Evil Monkey. But then his back story came out and he touched my heart.

I love the pint sized Queen! I don't think Stewie is gay; they just have him say gay stuff to be funny. Did you ever see the Family Guy movie? "Stewie Griffin - The Untold Story"? I have it at home. This news reporter on the show says "San Francisco is considering changing its name to something that sounds a little less gay" then they interview Stewie from the future and the reporter asks him on the street what he would suggest for a name and he's like "well considering the FABULOUS shoe selection here, I would cast my vote for "HEAVEN". lololol I was cracking up.

Well his relationship with Rupert leaves me to wonder. But then so does his relationship with Olivia! Remember when he asked Brian to "shave his coin purse"? LMAO! Maybe he's BI! LOL
January 6, 201015 yr Yeah, until Rupert ....well, it was unfortunate what happend to him but Stewie took care of it.
January 6, 201015 yr Stewie is gay. Even sometimes he seems to recognize it even though he is far from puberty. Didn't all you guys and gals know it before then? My sister and law started making people call her Fred by the second grade. So I think you know. Olivia was a beard. Anyone can see that.
January 6, 201015 yr I watch both, and they are the only shows I watch on "regular" TV. (well, I watch the Cleveland Brown Show, too. But only because it's on between Simpsons and Family Guy) I still like the Simpsons better, though. They have more staying power; Family Guy has already been cancelled once.

They weren't even remotely popular until after they were canceled. The Simpsons has been around forever but they're seriously running out of quality creative material. Family Guy's humor is much more fresh.

Family Guy's humor is much more fresh. I agree that they slowed down a little in the middle of the decade. But I think the Simpsons have gotten better again over the last couple years. JMO. Family Guy is too tasteless for me sometimes. They aren't afraid to "go there" and the laughter is sort of surprised out of me.
January 7, 201015 yr Auto, the stoner school bus driver, etc. etc. WOW! That is scary, even for you David!! What's that? You must have been home schooled!!
January 7, 201015 yr The Simpsons and Family Guy both peaked, but at their best the former had lots of heart and the latter made me laugh out loud like no other show could (pre-cancelled FG). Right now both are hit or miss with the Simpsons more recently going back to their roots with an actual storyline vs. having three mini-episodes in one like the one where Homer was an alpha crow. It was becoming an imitation of FG humor. FG on the other hand recycles gags too much. That one episode where there's that radio station they must have taken up half the show playing sound effects. Unfunny and lots of it. I place all of the blame on FOX for drowning Seth with three shows. If they'd axe American Dad and the Cleveland Show I think FG would be more consistent. Just imagine if the makers of The Simpsons got stuck with producing two additional shows. That would probably result in the end of the series. Both shows are very different and I don't think I can choose which one I like better.
January 7, 201015 yr I have to admit I have not watched a new espisode of the Simpsons in years, and I used to love of it. I will catch FG or SP now and then. Both FG and SP can both make me say, "oh no they didn't go there!" but usually FG is for shock value alone, while SP has some knid of twisted point behind it, like Speilberg raping Indiana Jones last season. Brian is by far my favorite on FG, I just think I can relate to a boozehound with tail chasing tendenancies and huge artistic ambitions that he will never accomplish. Although he did finish his novel at one point. I don't want to know what that says about me. The gay Stewie jokes are funny but pure evil Stewie from season one who hell bent on killing Lois was a riot.
January 7, 201015 yr The "Man in White" episode (not sure if that was the actual title) made me a Stewie fan for life.
January 7, 201015 yr I don't like Stewie's character nearly as much as I did in the original run of the series, either.
January 8, 201015 yr I don't like Stewie's character nearly as much as I did in the original run of the series, either. The best Family Guy gags are when Stewie and Brian suffer from the effects of their own basic instincts. Despite Stewie's high level of intelligence, he couldn't help but be drawn to the Teletubbies b/c of their "fuzziness". Despite Brian's sophisticated intellect he can't help but bark at the vacuum and get into the garbage. I agree. Stewie's refusal to be toilet trained despte building time machines, and Brian hanging his head out the car window (not when he is driving though) is priceless
