Everyone needs to go. how dould a team waste 20+ secs at the 20 yard line when there is 34 secs left with a time out. What a joke. 2 straight running plays to start the OT when they were gaining TONS of yards passing the 2 drives before that. IM sorry but all the coaches including the head coach needs to be fired.

I was surprised at how well they played today. I figured they would've lost the game by a complete blowout. I just hope they finish at least 8-8 this year.

So ... end of 1st quarter ... out of these 2 shitty teams, who are you guys picking to win, by what score?

They are poo.

I'm picking the Browns to win, 20-12.  :-D

I must say for the first time, I finally had some respect for Chad Johnson.  It was for sure an excellent show of class by just slapping hands with his teammates and not doing some stupid dance when he caught his first TD reception.  He may finally know where he and his team stands, and there is nothing to celebrate at this time...and of coarse that goes for the Browns also.

Good job by the Bengals against the Cowboys!

They played well but i think if it was any other team Marvin would be on the verge of losing his job.

Here is a little something my brother in-law made when fooling around in Photoshop.  The new/improved 2008 Bengals logo:

lol Send it to Mike Brown!

I figured this was appropriate after today's victory...

Bengals tied the Eagles today!

^Notice the crowd really didn't know whether to cheer or boo at the end of the game.  How are you supposed to react to a tie?

(And yes, I fully expect someone to tell me that a tie is like kissing your sister...)

if i'm the bengals i take what i can get.

I was at the game today and the feeling I got from the crowd was frustration.  Everyone around me seemed very frustrated with the Bengals... and rightfully so.  The Bengals had plenty of opportunities to win that game.  Kind of cool to see a tie though.  I guess I can cross that off my list of things to see before I die.

I was driving home from UC at the same time as the crowd from the Bengals game and nearly got ran off the road by the same car two different times.  I noticed they also were close to running into a couple of other cars really without any reason.  I'm assuming they were drunk.  Why is it police aren't more vigilant about this sort of thing following sporting events?

I will laugh my @$$ off if this tie is the reason the Bungals don't get the #1 pick in the draft.

LMAO!

I don't think the Bengals have any interest in the #1 pick. It's a huge waste unless it for a quarterback. I bet they prefer to be out of the top 7.

I can only hope they don't pick another Big Ten dud.

Yeah...the Bengals have probably zero interest in the #1 overall draft pick.  The team is in need of a number of changes...not 1 playmaker (which we already have several).  A pick outside the top 7 (as moonloop mentioned) would probably be ideal.

The Bengals better hope they get the #1 pick. They can always trade down for it.

Remember guys... Bengals play on Thursday this week!

I dont think the upper draft class this year is very strong and the top players will probably be ones that the bengals dont even need. I'd say they will get within the top 5 but like unusualfire said they could trade down depending on who's available. Anthony Collins is going to be starting Thursday for the Steelers game so i'm pretty excited to see how he will do. They were impressed with him during the preseason so hopefully he can make a difference on our poor OL.

I hate the steelers with a passion. disgusting.

The Crocker hit on Holmes was the only highlight. To bad it wasn't on Ward.

So whats the word on Ocho Stinko?!

*thinking of something witty to say ...*

as a Steeler fan... I feel for the Bengals... I was actually pretty excited for you guys when it appeared the organization had turned things around in 2005... it would've been nice to have a new rival instead of the annoying Ravens and pathetic Browns

Palmer prognosis due soon

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

By Scott Priestle, The Columbus Dispatch

CINCINNATI -- Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer continues to rest his injured right elbow in the hopes of avoiding major surgery.  He should find out in two weeks whether he has successfully rehabilitated it or merely delayed the operation.  Palmer said the plan is to resume throwing Dec. 7, which would be nine weeks to the day since his last pass.  If the pain persists, he likely will need ligament-replacement surgery in the elbow, a common operation for baseball pitchers.

^I can't believe Palmer isn't immediately having surgery (or hasn't had it after his game 3 injury).  By delaying the inevitable, Palmer is throwing away the 2009 season!

2008 should go down as Carson Palmer's lost season.  First, he disses Buckeye fans.  Then, he gets injured.  And finally, he delays surgery to repair that injury.  Jake Delahomme had this surgery immediately after being injured early in the 2007 season.  He was barely able to recover for the 2008 season - and he hasn't seemed 100%.

So if the Bengals and Palmer think delaying this surgery is going to work out better for them, they are dreaming.

Its going to take the Bengals several years to be competitive again. They have several younger players that are going to make an impact but its not going to be enough unless they start rebuilding. They just released Jeremi Johnson and Reagan Maui'a so now they have even more holes to fill.

It's obviously a much harder decision than we all must think.

The Bengals are a horribly run NFL franchise but can't be entirely stupid.

The fact is it would be a much easier decision if the injury was worse.

I believe the problem comes down to this:

--The ligament is still 80% in tact. Therefore they believe the ligament can heal fully without surgery by just resting his elbow.

--If they decided to have surgery, then they would have to completely sever the ligament 100% so they could repair it properly.

I quess they just don't want to cut the ligament 100% if there were other

options.

It might not matter anyway. If the Bengals don't do something about there Offensive Line, there's no point in putting him back out on the field

to get killed again. What would be next, a broken neck?

the Cincinnati Bengals just notched their third non-losing result of the season, yet nobody here is talking about it?  :(

I think everybody is just wanting the season to end. The only football game that I'm looking forward to anymore is the Orange Bowl with the Bearcats.

A win was the worst thing that could have happened.

Nah a win saves them money.

Bengals mediocrity leads to decline in average price of seat licenses

Jan. 15, 2009

CBSSports.com wire reports

CINCINNATI -- Like most stocks, the market for Cincinnati Bengals seat license contracts has plunged.  The agreements, which can be resold, give holders the right to buy season tickets at Paul Brown Stadium.  But in less than two years, the average value dropped from $2,783 to $536, according to SeasonTicketRight.com, a popular online trading exchange.

Just a couple of things to get the off season started right.

Bengals re-sign Coats

Just in time for free agency, Drew Rosenhaus talks Chad

Not a very important signing but it's something I guess.

Plackemeier is added to battle Larson

Kyle Larson might have some competition for the Bengals' punting job. The team on Friday acquired Ryan Plackemeier off waivers from Washington.  Since averaging 44.5 yards per punt in 2006, Larson's averages have declined by five yards over the last two years.  This past season, Larson was last in the NFL in punting with an average of 39.5 yards and the Bengals were near the bottom in net punting at 34.2 yards. In 2007, he averaged 41.3 yards.

Graham tagged

Jim Breech, the Bengals' all-time scorer, never came close to making $2.5 million in a 13-year career that came up just short and slightly wide right of free agency.  But he's happy not only for Shayne Graham, but for the many civic groups that Graham has helped during his six seasons in Cincinnati that includes the ubiquitous Kicks for Kids.  While the one-year, $2.48 million franchise tag may have irked Graham some in his efforts to get a long-term deal, he acknowledged the community in a statement released through his representative.

Housh is going to the Seahawks.  Well at least the Bengals still have Ocho Stinko!

This next season is not looking too good.  We've got an injured QB, no RB and we just lost our No. 1 WR.  But they did franchise their kicker!  The choice to pass on Washington's first round pick for Ocho looks pretty bad now.  Should've kept Housh instead.

we just resigned benson
