November 15, 200915 yr Between the sacs, incomplete passes, and lack of a PITT offensive TD, the Bengals really put a hurt on ben's stats today!!!
November 16, 200915 yr “I’m almost diabetic right now it’s so sweet. I’m so excited right now I can barely contain myself,” – LB Brandon Johnson on the win
November 16, 200915 yr Report: RB Larry Johnson on way to Cincinnati ESPN is reporting that former Chiefs running back Larry Johnson is headed to Cincinnati for a visit and is expected to sign with the team. November 16, 200915 yr I guess he would be a good backup for Benson but I'd rather stick with the duo of RBs that we already have.
November 17, 200915 yr This should help the Bengal's reputation. Nothing like adding someone that has been found guilty for outburst against women and anti-gay slurs.
November 17, 200915 yr Their reputation this year is winning and being the powerhouse of the AFC North. Johnson should help that. Off the field, I don't care about.. it's a sports team not a soap opera.

Off the field, I don't care about.. it's a sports team not a soap opera. Yep, and I see their reputation is definitely getting the spotlight here ... 2/3 of every sports network is predicting us to win the AFC title.
November 18, 200915 yr LJ = good pickup. No way he steps out of line or they will drop him like a bad habit.
December 17, 200915 yr Apparently Chris Henry died in a car accident this afternoon. Brain dead. Sad story.
December 17, 200915 yr He is not dead, as far as any reliable source is saying at this point. Critical condition at a hospital after a domestic dispute-turned-car accident. Here's the police report: http://www.wlwt.com/download/2009/1217/21986978.pdf
December 17, 200915 yr Bengals' Henry dies at 26 CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry died Thursday, one day after suffering injures in a fall from the back of a pickup truck, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said. December 17, 200915 yr What a shame. Sounds like he really tried to turn his life around over the past year or so.
December 17, 200915 yr Gotta love how this is on the front webpage of ESPN, NBC, CNN and Fox. But not the good ol' Enquirer!
December 17, 200915 yr If an alien spaceship landed in the middle of Fountain Square and made first contact with us, you can bet the Enquirer's banner headline for the next 24 hours would be "Sharonville Crash Causes I-275 Delays"
December 17, 200915 yr Gotta love how this is on the front webpage of ESPN, NBC, CNN and Fox. But not the good ol' Enquirer! When UC played Rutgers, they had more video/audio coverage of the game and Cincinnati players than the Enquirer. F'kin joke. R.I.P. Henry! Amazing talent!
December 17, 200915 yr I don't want to turn this into Enquirer bashing, but you'd think that their "ambulance-chaser content" philosophy would include this very headline-y Chris Henry story. Right now the photo headline is some story about the Ten Commandments. Do they really think the majority of the metro cares about this? This isn't Infowars.
December 17, 200915 yr isn't their webpage cincinnati.com? they have had a very large article about this all day.
December 28, 200915 yr Who Dey! The Bengals have won the AFC North and will figure out whether they are the 3rd or 4th seed in the playoffs next week when the play the Jets. That game, btw, has been bumped to the Sunday Night Football game on NBC as the game has playoff implications and it will be the last game at the Meadowlands. With all that said, there is a reasonable chance that the AFC North sends 3 teams to the playoffs with the Bengals, Steelers, and Ravens all potentially going.
December 30, 200915 yr Which Bengal has the biggest gripe for not being named outright to the pro bowl. I think a few will make it in as alternates, but there should have been at least one member of the AFC North's champion on the original team, no?
December 31, 200915 yr If Odom wouldn't have gotten hurt this year there's no doubt he'd be on the team. I sure hope the offense wakes up during the playoffs. If not then our D has a lot of work to do to keep us from getting sent home early.
December 31, 200915 yr Which Bengal has the biggest gripe for not being named outright to the pro bowl. I think a few will make it in as alternates, but there should have been at least one member of the AFC North's champion on the original team, no? Cedric Benson.
January 4, 201015 yr So... did they lay down last night because it was too cold and did not feel like being out there? Or did they lay down because it royally screwed the Steelers? Not a good way to end the season and head into the playoffs. Plus, there is not better way to get injured than to play football at half speed.
January 4, 201015 yr I think they wanted to give the Jets a false sense of security for next week's rematch in Cincinnati. It will be a completely different game when the Bengals have Cedric Benson, Chad Ochocinco, Carson Palmer, Domato Peko all playing the full length of the game. Plus the Bengals will have home field advantage and will actually have something to play for. Not only did the Bengals not have anything to play for last night, but they might have had more reason to lose as they certainly don't want to face the Texans again, and this sets up a more likely match up with the Colts in Indy for the second round instead of the Chargers in San Diego which we all know doesn't work well with the Bengals.
January 5, 201015 yr ^ I hope you're right. Between the Bengals and the Bearcats, last week was painful for Cincinnati football fans.
January 5, 201015 yr The Jets showed us their entire bag of tricks, we showed them absolutely nothing. We basically had twice as long to prepare for next weeks game. At least I hope our entire receiving core was dropping passes on purpose and not because of the cold. The high is 19 and the low is 7 on Saturday.
January 5, 201015 yr It's hard to get back up after being punched in the mouth like that. Confidence is a huge factor in football and the Bengals gave the Jets loads of it. If it was part of some kind of plan, it was a really, really dumb idea. It is one thing to play conservative. It is another to bend over and get ramrodded. You better believe those Jets defenders are going to white up the knuckles and pin their ears back in the opening round thinking they are going to be able to intimidate the Bengals into curling up into the fetile position again. Not the way I would have wanted to end such a great season.
January 5, 201015 yr ^I agree. I don't think the Bengals were playing at full speed, but they certainly weren't expecting what the Jets threw at them.
January 5, 201015 yr I say they were honoring the Bearcats! 2 weeks to plan for one team is a coaches dream. Why would we show them ANY plays that we plan on running in a game that matters? Agree, though that the Jets showed up to really play. I would love to believe the D was laying down too, but that didn't look that way. Injuries may be the death of us this week.

Agree, though that the Jets showed up to really play. I would love to believe the D was laying down too, but that didn't look that way. Injuries may be the death of us this week. And I would bet that a lot of those injuries occured because they were going half speed. I guess I just don't buy into the whole "we don't want to show them anything" method. That might have been their strategy, but I don't think it is effective in week 17 going into the playoffs. I wouldn't think that the Bengals have a fresh playbook they are going to unveil in the playoffs. They are going to dance with the girl that got them there and there is plenty of film for the Jets to review from the past 15 weeks. Resting your regular starters I can understand. Poking out your chin for a clean right cross I can not.
January 5, 201015 yr I agree I would've liked to have seen the starters sit too. The field was too slick to take the chance for a meaningless game. They already knew they didn't want to face Houston again.
January 6, 201015 yr Nice little article by the Doc ... Touches on everything that's on this page so far. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100105/COL03/301050090/1007/SPT/Doc++Bengals+are+better+than+Jets
January 10, 201015 yr The kicker will get the boot. He's been tarrible this year. I hope Bratkowski does too, but then again I've been looking for him to be fired now for years.
