I was kinda questioning this myself... We'll see.

Hopefully AJ Green gets healthy, and between him, Sanu, Tate, and Greshem, Little won't need to make many catches. Eifert is back in a couple weeks, too. Even Sanzenbacher was looking pretty good last week.

The scariest thing on offense is that Dalton looked like he had matured some during the first 3 weeks. He was making throws that were either uncatchable or only catchable by a Bengal every attempt. The last two games he looked like the Dalton of the last few years with several bonehead throws.

I don't know what the issue is on defense. They had given up the fewest amount of points through the first three games, and I'm not even going to look at where they are in the stats now.

Though after this weeks game against the Colts, we're through the hardest part of the schedule. 4-1-1 would be a great record at that point. Everybody else in the division has some pretty easy games this week so a loss might shuffle things up a bit.

Meh, that kind of stuff happens all the time, he only got caught this time because the Panthers are whiney. They wouldn't last a month in the AFC North.

I agree re: the AFC north, but did you see the pics of him twisting the ankles? Jeez ... sketchy!

^Back in the day, it was a regular thing.  I don't think that it is accepted by the players now.  With cameras focusing on every angle, if it happened regularly, you would see it regularly.  Burfict's past doesn't give him any benefit of the doubt either.

I don't know. Somehow the Steelers' WR Antonio Brown hasn't gotten his rear smeared for all his whining and crying.

Just registered on Urban Ohio....great site.  I just wanted to chime in on the condition of AJ Green.  I hope the Bengals keep him out of action for a few more weeks due to that turf toe.  Let the injury heal as best as it can.  Hopefully he can be fitted with some type of brace to keep the toe stable.  This injury is not to taken lightly HOF Pittsburgh line backer Jack Lambert had to retire due to turf toe.

When I was in junior college we were playing what had to be the dirtiest school in all JUCO land, Joliet Community College.  Every single game we had with them was nasty, late hits, punches to guts, etc.

In our bowl game our best running back who went on to play at Louisiana Lafayette I believe, just had a nice run and was gang tackled.  Their linebacker and the bottom of the pile twisted his ankle/lower leg so hard that it broke his shin bone, whatever that is called, and he had to get emergency surgery and a metal rod placed in his leg for the rest of his life.  You could hear him scream when it was happening.

  Thank you....

As HTS121 stated, these types of plays were accepted and occurred on a regular basis.  Now HOF players like Dick Butkus (Bears), Tommy Nobis (Falcons), Ray Nitschke (Packers), Jack Tatum (Raiders), Sam Huff (Giants) would be suspended and fined on a regular basis.  That said, the "average" career of an NFL player back in the day (50's through the 70's) was 3-5 years.

Whines Hard was both dirty and a crybaby.  He actually called the cops on Warren and Santiago for having guns and pot when they were at Burress's party.  Harrison is back with the blackandyellowthings, perhaps teams were/are afraid of him.....

The party is over. Too many injuries. Cincy sports is cursed.

That was a vintage 1990’s Bengals throwback performance. Given that injuries are killing them at the moment, but that was honestly one of the worst performances I’ve seen in the entire Marvin Lewis era. The fact that AJ Green was out doesn’t excuse the rest of the offense from getting 20 some yards in the first half. The whole team looked completely unprepared on both sides of the ball.

Anybody notice that Colts player doing a spinning slam dunk through the goalposts after the first touchdown? Nobody said anything even though that sort of activity gets a penalty now. Maybe I didn't see it right because the camera angle was a little funny.

What a joke the Bengals were yesterday.  Pathetic from top to bottom.  I don't think a healthy AJ and Eifert makes a ton of difference in this game, either.  Our defense sucks, even though they were on the field for way, way too long yesterday.  For such a 'formidable' front 4, they hardly got to Luck all game.  Dalton is a moron and is once again a liability for the team. The very first offensive play of the game, Dalton through to a very covered Gresham for a 5 yard loss.  Dolt.  Marvin Lewis once again looked totally perplexed, and looked to have made 0 adjustments, despite only being down 10 at halftime.

This season is reminding me of two seasons of recent memory- 2010 and 2012.  In 2010, we had a pretty good September (Reds were also in the playoffs for the first time in forever that year), and when October started, the wheels completely fell off.  There was the utterly disastrous game against Tampa Bay that season that the Bengals never really recovered from.  2012 also saw a hot start from the Bengals, but then saw 4 consecutive losses in the month of October and first week of November.  The team was able to bounce back a little and ended up making the playoffs, where they of course lost in the first round.  Let's hope this year's team is more similar to 2012 than 2010.

Improbable win today with their best players out.

With the win over Baltimore, the Bengals are 2-0 against the second place team in the AFC North, which is a nice place to be seeing as everyone else in the division already has 2 losses.

^ 3 losses right?

2 losses within the division. Both have a loss to Baltimore and a loss to each other. That's what I took Ram23 to be saying, anyway. (Also, Baltimore has two losses within the division! w00t!)

Yeah, that's what I meant, I was just talking about division records. It's nice to see the Ravens beating up on everyone else, while we beat up on the Ravens.

These injuries are driving me up the wall. Burfict is out for at least a couple games. Green is back for the Jacksonville game, but Bernard is out.

I can't keep track of who's playing week-to-week. I hope everyone's back if we get to the postseason, but I'm certainly not optimistic.

Anyone have any opinions or predictions regarding Atkins getting back to 100%?

^Atkins has a good game Sunday. Slowly but surely.

Last week was the first time Geno looked anything like himself, and not coincidentally, last week's game was almost a year after he tore his ACL.  I've been saying for a while that Geno won't be making a lot of plays before December, but with the way he looked last week, I might have to push that date up a couple weeks.  As long as he's right for the Denver game....

Any over/unders for how many bogus flags will be thrown to benefit New England against Denver today?  They can't be beaten at home in the reg season partially because the refs make sure it doesn't happen.

How good did Hill look yesterday? Not to mention his celebrations are spectacular - I think he'll be getting some calls from Geico soon. Hopefully the Bengals will use him and Bernard in combo on the ground a lot more now.

Look how close the refs are watching him. Making sure he doesn't "go to the ground", participate in a "group celebration", or do anything else the NFL deems as worthy of a penalty.

Do you realize how bad the league would look if it allowed dancing?

The Indianapolis Bengals showed up tonight.  This was very uncharacteristic - but it wasn't indicative.; if the Bengals don't the season with a better record than the Browns I owe everyone here a beer.

It'll be your choice between a Burger or a Hudy Delight. As the cheapest beers in Cincy, they aren't as good as Guinness, but a few tiers above Great Lakes.

I think Andy Dalton just threw another pick.

When 8 of us went down to the game at Riverfront courtesy of WMMS, we were in the very top row.  Behind us was an aisle that had drainage holes in it.  A couple of our people disposed of used beer through them.  We figured everyone would just think it was Hudepohl.

Hudy Delight?  I never heard of that.  Or am I missing a joke here?

What would Paul Brown have done, if one of his Browns or Bengals players had headbutted another player, or made a tackle and acted like an idiot in a game they were getting killed?

I think that either player would have not played another down in that game.  Not Marvin.

Very late in the game, one of the DLs made a tackle on a modest gain up the middle and started talking hard at the RB.  I'm like WTF?  It's 24-3.

It turned out to be Devon Still.  Him I'll cut all kinds of slack.  But it's cultural, apparently.

I think the word your looking for is "football." It's football, there should be trash talking and hard hits, no matter what the score is.

I don't mind hard hits and trash talking.  Its just embarrassing when its inappropriate.  As Paul Brown once said, act like you've been there before.

There's nothing worse than watching a player celebrate because they made a play even though the team is getting beat badly.  One of the Browns defensive players did it in the final minutes against Jacksonville after a sack or tackle for a loss.  I wanted to scream at him, "what are you dancing for, fool?  You're getting beaten by an 0-6 team!"

Not sure if you've played team sports, but this type of "celebration" is more of a moral/team boosting moment.  Even if you're down and losing you never give up and those moments are emotional and mental reminders to the opponent and your coaching staff that you're head is still in the game.

But it's cultural, apparently.

Yeah.... I don't think that was the word, but I agree with you. In fact, things were much worse back in them 'good ole days'.  Headbutts, cheap shots, and other dirty tactics are actually probably way down

Paging Jack Lambert...Paging Jack Lambert

I doubt Jack Lambert ever did a dance after sacking a quarterback!

This is still one of my favorite sacks of Terry Bradshaw!

^The sack dance started with Mark Gastineau..... a little after Lambert's time

Lambert played through the 1984 season.

It's timing as much as anything else.  For example, I had no problem with Kirksey's end zone hit on Jake Locker, and not just because he's a Brown.

When the game's been decided though, it's just lame.
