Oh, and what a beautiful shot they just showed - looked like it was from at the west end of the Covington murals, with the suspension bridge framing the right of the screen - beautiful shot, with the lights shimmering on a dark river...gorgeous!

I was at the game, sitting in my season ticket seats, and I was very impressed by the crowd.  It was very large for a pre-season game (the largest ever from bengals.com) and was really into the game and the total scene (ie: NBC was set up in southwest corner).  Great to see and it is only August! Oh and they had a new intro segment on the big screens and it was a very cool sort of "Welcome to Cincinnati and Our Jungle" kind of thing with the players and game shots and various city scenes.

Leave it up to the idiot announcers to screw up a story that they talked about essentially for the entire game!  Not to mention, NBC had a miserable comeback into the football scene.  The coverage seemed amateur at best (except for the city shots)....the camera wasn't on target, was often wobbly, and the announcers just didn't know when to shut up and let the game go for a split second without jibberish.

Lewis: It's up to Carson

BY MARK CURNUTTE | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said today that Carson Palmer has to play in the preseason in order to play Sept. 10 in the regular-season opener at Kansas City.  Lewis said Palmer is medically cleared and "fine to go" and that when Palmer plays is up to Palmer.  Lewis would not say who would start at quarterback Friday night at Buffalo in the second preseason game and would not rule out the possibility of Palmer playing.

If it's healed he should play, if it's not he shouldn't. Seems simple to me.

Carson was saying that it is healed, the doctors have cleared him, but right now he's not confident enough in it to keep his eyes downfield when he thinks someone might be coming at him low.  He can run, he can cut, he can certainly throw - he just doesn't have the special sense of indestructibility that you need to stand in a collapsing pocket that extra second that it takes for a receiver to break open...I'm not sure what you do about that...

as a former ACL victim (and two other subsequent surgeries) during my athletic caree: Given the conditioning he's been receiveing, he should be "normal" by six months max. Everything after that is mental, which arguably the largest component.

I was part of a much more manly sport, I ran cross-country. ;)

Do you know anyone who has 2 or 4 tickets for sale for the Bengals game on October 29, 2006? My father is coming to visit and he's never seen a professional football game before (we don't count the New Orleans Saints as a real team).  My mom wants to surprise him with tickets.  I told her games actually sell out here in Ohio, not like in New Orleans.  But anyway, I figured I would ask in this forum.  If you or someone you know has some (even in the nose-bleed section), please let me know.  Send me a personal message.  Thanks!

There are tickets available on eBay, but they are definitely pricey...

Try 333-SEAT, NO Lady.

Don't ever expect to pay face value for your tickets, it's impossible.

Think of it as non students/alums trying to get tickets for LSU (or OSU) football.  Not very easy.

Amazing, just a few years ago you couldn't give seats away.

Everyone loves a winner

I figured it was a long shot but I would ask anyway.  If anything changes or if you hear someone who is selling their tickets for this particular game, just let me know.  I think my mom would be willing to pay about $150 per ticket. Thanks!

For $150/ticket, you can probably do it.  Check eBay, 333-SEAT...don't know where you'll sit, but I'm sure you can get in the stadium for that much.

New Orleans Lady:  Stub Hub I think is a good spot to go (stubhub.com or go to bengals.com and click on "Tickets" and the second heading is for Stub Hub and will take you right to Bengal's tickets).  I actually bought some extra Browns tickets there and service was great and I already have them in my possession.  I forget what I paid but it was well under $150.  ($80 comes to mind.)

Talking about Tickets, we're getting tickets for around section 111 for Monday night.  :)

Hey, I saw the MNF convoy on I-71 today. They were just pulling into town.. YAY.

Two things...

1)  Put the NFL on alert that Carson Palmer is back... and he's looking damn sharp.

2)  That view they showed of the skyline before halftime from Kentucky was quite nice.

^and the view they showed looking down Plum St...wasn't so nice :|

But nonetheless, its funny to see all of the ESPN 'experts' change their opinion about the Bengals after a third straight domination of an opponent.  I would not warn the NFL......just the Steelers, this is the BENGALS division and they stand NO chance at this rate!

Oh and one other thing...I thought that all of the 'experts' said that the Bengals weren't going to be able to duplicate their takeaways from the year before.....Well 10 takeaways in 3 games is pretty good if you ask me, I guess it is ALL luck (Cincinnati teams are very good at catching that kind of luck [/sarcasm]).

WHO DEY!!!!!!!!!!!

lol, yeah, I dont' know what they were doing with that shot.  It looked like a dark alleyway leading up to the stadium.

The Bengals looked pretty sharp.....Palmer was on, the defense looked good...but I think they would have gotten a better game out of another team with the same color uniforms...St Ed's!

With the schedule the Bengals have this year, each victory is extremely valuable.

WHO DEY indeed.

Sweet, the Bengals will be 2-0 when they face those bastard Steelers on the 24th.

Nice hit on the KC QB.

^I was appalled at that shot...then on one of the replay angles, it seems like he was pushed into the QB while in the air - like, without that elbow, he'd have sailed over his head...but then, I read Geathers saying he didn't see the QB was going into his slide - and I've gotta call BS on that, because if you didn't see it, that means you weren't looking, and you've just plain gotta be looking for that...

That shot was clean. Green can blame only his offensive line for that one. Green ran the ball, what 3 or 4 times in that one single drive?

^Yeah...I was saying that if he kept going to the well like that.......that he was gonna get decked.  I'm not saying that it is good that he got hurt, but I could see it coming.

Henry pleads guilty

Receiver avoids jail time on gun charge, but NFL judgement awaits

ORLANDO - Chris Henry avoided jail time today with a guilty plea on a concealed weapons charge but could now face discipline from the NFL.  The Bengals wide receiver will serve 100 hours of community service and be on probation for two years, according to terms of his plea agreement.  “I’d like to say I know I made a mistake, but I’m just trying to, you know what I’m saying, turn all of this into a positive,” Henry told reporters outside the courthouse in Orlando, Fla., where he had been arrested Jan. 28.

Lucky MOFO. If it was me or you we would be doing 5 years or more.

Huh? It appears that the push did nothing to change his momentum or trajectory.

Geathers won't be fined for hit

BY MARK CURNUTTE | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER

September 14, 2006

CINCINNATI - Robert Geathers was not fined by the NFL for his hit Sunday on Chiefs quarterback Trent Green.  "It is not a foul," senior league vice president Ray Anderson said in a statement Wednesday.  Green slid late and simultaneous to Geathers breaking to tackle him, the league decided after a film review.  Geathers also was blocked from behind and "was no longer in complete control of his body," Anderson said.

Here's a clip of the hit on YouTube:

You can clearly see Geathers being pushed forward at the same time as when Green starts his slide.....I just don't know how Geathers could have avoided the contact :|

The Browns signed free agent Mini-Ditka for the game on Sun....Browns(with mini Ditka) 87/Bengals-0

It looks like the NFL, who I am sure looked at this more carefully than any of us can, decided the push in the back did affect his trajectory based on their opinion.  The fact that he turned to avoid helmet to helmet contact also helped.

And the NFL mentioned the late slide. I guess this puts all QB's on notice. Don't slide late or you'll be treated as a running back which they should if they are RUNNING..lol

What the hell is this supposed to mean?!?!?!
