I'd say there are performance incentives involved in the deal.

T.O. and Ocho Cinco on the same team? Isn't that like putting pure matter and pure antimatter together?

T.O. and Ocho Cinco on the field at the same time would be a deadly combination.

On the sideline, in the locker room and in the media too.  Pass the popcorn!!!

Another piece to the Super Bowl puzzle and with the AFC North full of walk-overs, the path is clear. Hell, the Bengals / Cowboys game could very well be a Super Bowl preview.

Tough schedule or not this is going to be a good season. We are bound to have a major injury free season.

For sure ... It's like what ochocinco said, their games will now only be available via pay per view! lol

Cannot wait!

Wow - hopefully T.O. starts strong quickly.  I think he will probably be one and done, and if history repeats he will play nice in the sand box, or Jungle as it were.  At least for this year.  Daugherty seems pretty fired up in today's column if you have a chance to read it.

Didn't the Bengals also land Antonio Bryant?  That's 3 potentially #1 caliber receivers on the same team.

They did, and I can't imagine them not keeping Jordan Shipley among others.  Jerome Simpson's days are numbered.  This situation is hilarious - T.O.'s arrival at the airport looked like a circus.

Do you *still* think they're not keeping Shipley? If you can nearly run back a kickoff from the Cowboys, I think you're on your way to proving you have a place on the team.

I do think they will keep Shipley - I probably could have been clearer in how I stated that.  I cannot see them letting him go, and he has great open field instincts.  I think others are in trouble.

HAHA TJ got cut today.

^ Yeah, and the thing is he was getting paid more than Bryant was but you don't hear ESPN giving the Seahawks a hard time about it.

Cincinnati Bengals:

Strength: In the past three years, their ability to convince NFL experts the team could make it to the Super Bowl has been staggering

Weakness: Terrell Owens wants to prove he can still play at a high level, but he wants to systematically destroy an entire football organization much, much more

Intangibles: The combination of T.O. and Ochocinco could make the Bengals so annoying at the receiver position that other teams forfeit to avoid playing them

Biggest Question: How good is Carson Palmer's psychiatrist?

The write-up on the Browns was pretty funny, too!

Cleveland Browns:

Strength: N/A

Weakness: Okay, where to begin? Let's see, Jake Delhomme is their starting quarterback. Bobby Engram, their 37-year-old starting wide receiver, caught 5 passes last year. Running back Jamal Lewis was cut in the off-season. Man, this is fun and easy! What else? Okay! They're in a constant state of rebuilding and have no team identity, the future of the franchise is Colt McCoy, and their biggest asset is team president and non-football-player Mike Holmgren

Strength: Oh, just thought of one: dog faces

Player to Watch: To see Colt McCoy become a starter too early, get extremely flustered, and have a terrible rookie season could be quite delightful

Biggest Question: How soon will fans bust out the paper bags?

What an absolutely embarassing performance from the Bengals today.  I hope Marvin kicks their ass in practice all week.

sittin in a bah in south bahstin now...am            the only one rootin for those lame bengals... I'm hearin about it... I wish I were watchin the browns

The second half was MUCH better, and when you look at the stats, the Bengals actually fared really well.  It came down to the turnovers, special teams, and big plays on defense.  New England is a hard place to play, especially on their opening day.

yea maybe for the football for idiots crowd like you.

^God you're annoying.  Please go back to discussing the Browns loss to Tampa in your appropriate thread...

New England is a tough team, you have a lot of games left.  My Browns on the other hand have an uphill battle.

Man, for all the smack talk by Batman and Robin (LOL!!!) Cincy looked pathetic!!

What happened to the terrifying Cincy defense??

And New England's defense man-handled that 'scorching red-hot' Cincy offense! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Talk is cheap B.O. and Ochostinko!

O, and I am not going to say anything about the Browns. They played stupidly and deserved to lose! No one expects them to win the division. And no Brown has trahsed talked like the idiots on the Bungles.

The Bungles will probably beat the Browns twice this season. That's not the issue. The issue is this loss to the Patriots because it was a real test of the quality of your team. You couldn't play with the big boys, again!!!!

And no Brown has trahsed talked like the idiots on the Bungles.

Except Brandon McDonald.... but he isn't a Brown anymore either.

Clarification:

No Brown this season has trashed talked and hyped themselves up like B.O. and Ochostinko.

To my fellow Cleveland Browns fans:  why are you trash-talking? What have the Browns accomplished lately to earn us fans the honor to talk trash with Bengals fans? Could we leave the Bengals fans alone in their own thread until we beat them and earn some bragging rights? Geez, we're like the little kid who always gets the crap beat out of him on the playground and is lying there, bloodied and bruised, but still bragging? About what? That we bleed more efficiently or look better bruised? Please. Let's go back to our own thread, sulk and wait for the day that our team can actually earn some bragging points.

Yeah, football idiots like me, who played the game for 10 years in school, and have been watching my entire life.

That was a really lame comment, what are you, 12?

Definitely no bragging here, which is clearly obvious in my post. I will be the first to admit the Browns are mediocre at best right now, and, as I stated earlier will probably be beat twice by the Bungles this season.

I'm only discussing a topic that the Bengals have brought up themselves on the Bengals thread.

But, for our porr Bengals fans, I will not discuss this topic any longer. Would not want to hurt their feelings.

I'm thinking 11.

This was definitely not bragging.  I thought I was encouraging Bengals fans about their possible future.

I don't think he was addressing you.

Ok, cool.  Sorry for the thread jacking guys!  The trash talk thread was fun and all but in reality I can appreciate and respect other teams and their fans.

Great win by the Bengals today.  It wasn't pretty, and Carson definitely needs to work on his accuracy, but I'll take a win over Baltimore any way we can get it.

Yeah, anytime ravens lose is ok with me!  Palmer didn't look good, and the tripping and roughing calls were bad!

I was at the game. Carson is HORRIBLE.

I was there too. The defense was the only reason I was able to stay awake. But I'll take the W any day.

I will definitely take a W, and the defense looks great.  There really seems to still be something wrong with Palmer - missing Ochocinco in in the back of the endzone was pretty bad.

I know they won, but how can Mike Vick throw 4 td's after not playing for 4+ years and Carson well...has been Carson the past 3+ years???

Here are two articles about the failing offense that I found interesting.

The first is basically a break down of what is happening to the offense, and outlining their struggles:

http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100927/SPT02/309270072/1066/Bengals-offense-getting-uglier

The second is a column by Paul Daugherty about how the offense really doesn't have any excuse to still be so shitty with the addition of TO, Shipley, and Gresham:

http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100926/COL03/309260068/1007/SPT02/Daugherty-No-more-excuses-Bengals

Personally, I'm a little scared about this Browns game.  The Browns have been close in every game they've played this year, and if they Bengals can't pick up their offense, and we let Cleveland hang around, they are very capable of winning this game.

Good luck on Sunday (not really... but I am trying to be a good sport in this non-trashing talking forum).  Just keep your linebackers away from Peyton Hillis and your receivers away from TJ Ward.... and you should be able to make it to the following week with a full, healthy squad :)

Here we go.  TO said today that he has been open on a number of occasions, but hasn't gotten the ball for whatever reason!  He added that he wasn't going to say anything about it since they are winning!  Imagine what he would have said otherwise!

I'm sure there will be absolutely no problems getting the ball to him this weekend, except maybe the fact that 2 or 3 other receivers will always be open at the same time.

Come on the Bengals need a new offensive coordinator.

The Bengals have the talent to have one of the top offenses in the NFL. I think its time for them to take advantage of it.

When in the end zone...act like you've been there before T.O. Sorry, but guys like this are classless.

?? That was a pretty run of the mill touchdown celebration, it's not like it was anything worthy of a 15 yard penalty, as was the Brown's celebration earlier in the game.

But I guess the "act like you've been there before" clause doesn't exactly apply to the Browns, on most occasions, at least.

The Browns celebration was a numbers thing. It was uneventful except for there being two guys with their arms in the stands instead of one.  I was out of the room when TO scored, sure we'll see it on every mention of the game later this evening.

I'm sure there will be absolutely no problems getting the ball to him this weekend, except maybe the fact that 2 or 3 other receivers will always be open at the same time.

You were wright!

Well, overall that was pretty pitiful.  The Bengals just cannot lose to 0-3 teams if they want to do anything this year.  T.O. was a bright spot, and it will be interesting to see how they respond after this.

The Bengals managed to lose to the worst team in the NFL. They consistently play to the level of their opponents, which makes for exciting football in lieu of a playoff spot.  At least there will be some worthwhile events taking place in the stadium next door this month.

Well, I would argue that the Browns are not the worst team in the NFL.  1-3 yes, but they are competing.  That said, I was biting my nails hoping to keep Cincy off the field in those last 3-4 minutes.  It was a good, hard fought game.  Both teams had highs and lows.
