January 8, 201015 yr Nice! I haven't been there in years. Kokomo has been hit hard by the reversals of the auto industry in the area, along with Anderson, Marion, and Muncie. I used to go to Kokomo in the early seventies for an annual New Year's Day Bike Ride. It was a good time, not competitive or strenuous, and ended up with hot chocolate and pastries at a city park shelter.
January 8, 201015 yr ^Do you know if Kokomo was successful in their annexation attempt? I know they had plans to annex something like 14,000 residents within 12 acres surrounding the city last year, but can't seem to find out what happened.

Apparently Kokomo is beyond the perimeter of the Fort Wayne media market, because I seldom hear/read anything about it unless something sensational happens. They don't often have a mass murder or whole-block downtown conflagration that would get them mentioned in the news here.

January 8, 201015 yr great pictures, and although it has nothing to do with Kokomo, Indiana (does it??), that song (as alluded to) keeps running through my mind (the Muppets "cover" version--lol): btw-I wonder why the flags are half staff on the courthouse in the last picture. January 10, 201015 yr Nice town. I like it!!!!!!! I know they had plans to annex something like 14,000 residents within 12 acres surrounding the city last year, I hope they're successful. I could only imagine the kind of unannexed urbanity going on in that space ;)
