Condolences to our beloved Cleveland Browns -- you tried SO hard to lose that game and here we are celebrating your failure.  That's gotta hurt....  😉

That was quite an awesome fourth quarter.  Im glad Stefanski took UrbanOhios challenge of winning that game and accomplished it.  Massive win, the biggest win outside of the playoff game I can remember.  The division is right in front of them now.  Win this week and they can honestly be in a position to win the division without the final cincinnati game meaning anything.  Cincinnati has 4 more division games.  Pittsburgh has 4.  Baltimore has two more but also have to play some really tough road games.  These guys will all beat each other up.  Victory Monday!

Wins vs. 49ers, Colts and Ravens are games they would have lost last year.

That's the longest I've seen NFL referees let a scrum happen without blowing it dead for "forward progress" in a long long time.

The Browns fan conspiracy theorist in me thought for sure they were hoping Baltimore could strip the ball.

I guess it's wait until next year.  Dang.  If it wasn't for bad luck. the Browns would have no luck at all.

Annnnd just like that the two days of positivity and happiness come to a screeching halt.

Welcome to Cleveland Browns Football folks!!!

Tom Brady taking Jimmy's phone calls?

FWIW - less talented teams than the Browns have one Super Bowls...

But unless DTR balls tf out it's toughhhhh sledding. DTR has a higher ceiling, but much lower floor than PJ.

Brad Stainbrook... The #Browns are working out veteran quarterback Joe Flacco today, per a league source. Flacco is 10-1 at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

So Browns twitter finally got one right...

^I was at that game.  Sat in the first row of the field boxes behind the third base dugout.   It was SO COLD.  Way below zero and the wind was murder (especially walking down west 3rd toward the lake before the game).  Of course a great disappointment.  Any other time they would have kicked the field goal but I think Cockroft was slightly hurt and the wind was a big concern.

I went to the 86 AFC championship game vs Broncos. It was bone chilling cold. Of course, the same outcome as the above. My girlfriend at the time cried all of the way back home from Cleveland to Youngstown. Not the outcome that we all wanted but priceless memories that I will never forget.

Me too. Still have the GameDay program. My sister cried and I felt like it. A quiet Rapid ride home.

I sold beer until halftime and ended up in the front row 50 yard line, as many people had left.   Only noticed the cold when I was working, I met some friends and they had "antifreeze".  (And I had an 18 year old liver.)

I. LOVE. THIS. TEAM.

Not sure how old you are Yabo but it's definitely feeling like the vibe like the Kardiac Kids and later 80's teams that went to the AFC championships.

For those youngsters out there who questioned us old folks and our loyalty watching the post 1999 franchise, THIS is what we remember.   A team filled with heart that doesn't give up, quit, or take to social media after a loss complaining about coaches.  A team that is having fun together while winning.

I can relate as I am not only old enough to remember RR88, I am old enough to have been drinking during it.

In the more years than I care to think about since the return, both the team’s attitude and the fan base’s have been lagging well behind that era.   Bottlegate, for example, was seen as Horrible, while in the past it was not entirely unexpected when a screwup like that happens.   Even Al Lerner was behind the times when he downplayed it.   Part of this was the NFL’s corporatization, part was fan momentum that dropped off after the return despite our furious reaction to the hiatus.

Team attitude and fan attitude feed off each other, and the defense in particular is getting more aggressive and cockier than it has been (Myles Garret’s helmet swing being an aberration, even though his picking up a loose black helmet during the game triggered an alert).

This right here, which is exactly how those yellow rags should be treated in CBS, is a good example.  I don’t think it would have happened with previous teams, those old squads would have done it for sure.

After Red Right 88, I erased all of the Browns songs I had recorded on my new Sears stereo system. And after listening to Uncle Vic on G98 on Sunday night, he talked me down and then I regretted erasing the songs.

After the Ravens and Art Modell won the Super Bowl in 2000, I swore off the NFL forever. I paid attention to the Browns in their 2002 playoff season, but I couldn't get emotionally involved in this poseur Browns team. The Browns were an afterthought to me for the next 16 years and I didn't have any hope for them until the Browns traded for Jarvis Landry, Tyrod Taylor, and Damarious Randall in one day. That's when the Browns started becoming relevant to me again for the first time in The Return era.

BTW, tell me without looking who was the Ravens QB in the first half of the 2000 season? He was so bad he was benched for Trent Dilfer.

Cockroft had already missed two field goals and an extra point and he would have been kicking into the open end of the stadium and a swirling wind.  Backup QB Paul McDonald was the holder and he botched the hold a couple times because he was wearing gloves.

im a browns fan, and i come from a lifelong line of browns fans.  But you guys are hilarious (as are my uncles and family members).  No matter what the situation is, old school browns fans want to talk about 70's and 80's teams.

Phipps to Pitts on the blitz.  Great game!

Glad it's a rivalry again. It's only a rivalry when both teams have something to play for, and/or at least have an equal chance of winning the game.

As a Gen Xer that is pretty much the only time we had something to cheer about. We weren’t born yet for the glory days of the four championships. Then the Browns left town, returned in 99, and pretty much have been perennial losers since then for the most part.

Just saw this blast from the past, during my college days. Sixth year in a row that the Steelers had lost to the Browns in Cleveland.

Yeah Kinda but it’s a little deceiving if you look closer, No NYC, Atlanta or Texas media markets which are huge and The Colts-Bengals blob is getting Chicago. The plus side is the entire west coast but the negative is it’s a 10am kick off for them. These maps are always tricky if it’s not a primetime night game.

^ not too big an issue as they are used to being on the end of the usa time zones for broadcasts out west. its still impressive and great exposure.

i didnt get to see the game today, but checking in yeesh looks like it was a nailbiter after an early big lead.

^Browns should’ve been out of sight by HT, but nothings ever easy, is it?

A Cleveland-born friend was enjoying the luxury of watching at home in LA, only for the local affiliate to switch to the Chargers game just as the Jags scored late to make it interesting!

My hovercraft is full of eels

A little OT, but the interior shots of a holiday festive Tower City during the broadcast sure looked purty!   🎄

Looks like the Browns are trending toward a January rematch of this game in Jax (unless the Texans have something to say about this)

Just win, baby.

So good to see the Browns offense rediscover the WR's.  You gotta give Flacco a lot of credit for his poise and old man superpowers. Lots of props to go around in fact. A very good W.

The Bengals' remaining 2023 schedule was altered and TV coverage was pulled back when Burrow went down with his second injury of the season.

Most conspicuously, the New Year's Eve Bengals-Chiefs game was moved from prime time to 4:30pm.

I gotta vent, folks... and my ire is targeted at Browns fans again...

It's really frustrating that we sat here since 1999 and all we wanted was a competent team that could win close games - we swore that was all we wanted to two decades... And now we have it and Browns fans are clearly not as excited about it as I thought we would be. I think Emmet Golden said it best this week, and I'll summarize.... "About 40% of Browns fans were calling for Stefanski's head... now he's doing arguably the best coaching job in the NFL against very tough odds, and those Browns fans are more angry that they were wrong than they are excited that the Browns are winning games."

I have a busy day at work - but I'll go all in on a review this week either later today or tomorrow. Just had to get that off my chest.

Nevermind the Watson moral/morale disaster and Chubb's deflating injury, but are Browns fans not excited about the team?

I thought the games tend to have high ratings and good merch sales.
