Interesting that Deion denied he publicly said Shedur would not go to Cleveland:

but then muddied the water:

When asked if Deion would step in to avoid Sanders going into a bad situation, the Colorado head coach said: “Yeah, but I’m not going to do it publicly. I’m going to do it privately.”

It will be interesting to see if Deion ‘privately’ steps in to stop his son going to either the Titans or Browns.

Deion Sanders says there are a couple NFL teams he won't allow son Shedeur to play for

Gee, I wonder who one of those teams are.

Funny tweet about the Deshaun "setback" yesterday.    I redacted the NSFW words.

Seems like the overseas plans for NFL teams are heating up such as London at new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. We wish Jimmy would copy the Populous design and rebuild around our exisiting stadium as done there - at least short-term until Burke opens up.

The stadium is the first purpose-built for NFL games outside the U.S., featuring a retractable natural turf pitch that slides under the South Stand in just 25 minutes, revealing an artificial playing surface. This allows American football to take place during the Premier League football season without affecting the quality of the natural turf pitch. The stadium now hosts two regular season NFL games each year as part of an ongoing partnership between the league and Tottenham Hotspur.

The system also offers ideal sightlines for American football by lowering the playing surface relative to the first row of seats, allowing fans to view the action over players and coaching staff on the sidelines. Add to that purpose-designed NFL locker rooms and other bespoke player, staff and media facilities, and the stadium has become a true home away from home for visiting NFL teams.

https://populous.com/showcases/tottenham-hotspur-football-club

btw when will Jimmy release the designs for the existing site? In their absence we are left to assume they must be amazing (just as the Vocon renderings done for Destination Cleveland are amazing). If they weren't he woud have released long ago to further support his fuzzy rationale to move to BP.

Sure glad we can pony up the money for a publicly owned stadium so that we can have NFL football in Cleveland, only for them to jump at every opportunity to play games internationally.

TIL -- Hank Aaron was a long-time fan of the Cleveland Browns, having attended many games in disguise in their "Dawg Pound" seating section.

Common among southern black folks of that era.   There wasn't a team down there and the Browns and Rams were the first pro football teams to integrate.  Condoleeza Rice is also a Browns fan, for that reason.

that’s not why. per the writeup it seems hammering hank was an ozzie newsome fan because of alabama. he would have become a fan of any team ozzie went to.

"Doing some more digging, it sounds like Aaron’s fandom with the Browns started earlier than Newsome’s days with the Browns. Here is a video clip for ESPN’s Believeland, which features Aaron talking about how he used to be incognito in the Dawg Pound:"

The video has him speaking of Otto Graham and Marion Motley.

that may be in retrospect, but he said it was directly ozzie that actually brought him to cleveland, not southern black nfl history or marion motley.

No going back with that statement. Maybe Browns will get a first and second?

What an embarrassment.

Thank God the new stadium will have Superbowls and Taylor Swift concerts or we would have nothing.

Hey Justin Tucker, Jimmy and Dee are on line two.

It's interesting this came out today when Dewine announces his budget proposal and possible funding for the stadium. It's hard for the Haslams to be any less despised by fans now. Only thing left for them to do is move the team out of the area altogether.

They are no better football people than they were truckstop trust fund babies.  The ideal situation would be for them to sell the team to an owner with ties to Cleveland who would be interested in cultivating a civic asset.

Way to go Jimmy.....

Is there a sell the team movement in the works or do we need to start one... 😆

He’s great but he isn’t that young for that kind of heist.

Yes please. But honestly, can we expect any better?

The NFL is complicit in everything bad that has happened to the Browns since the Modell move. They stole 3 years away from the most loyal fanbase on Earth, they forced these ridiculously incompetent owners and even pushed league shills like Carmen Policy or lazy ass retreads like Mike Holmgren to collect paychecks for doing absolutely nothing.

It is astounding. I can’t tell anyone what to do, but at some point everyone has to reconsider where you should be investing your time. The NFL does not deserve it.

all the local sports people are apologists for this team.  its unbelievable

ESPN radio hypothesized J.J. McCarthy.

Potentially solves some problems with both teams, especially if the Vikings re-sign Darnold.

And Mary is an idiot.

Haslam selling the team would solve some problems.

Especially if sold to a local ownership group...or even local by proxy (looking at you Dan Gilbert!)

Myles Garrett: ‘I’m willing to do whatever it takes’ to make the Browns trade him, he says on Super Bowl pregame

Regardless of dead cap issues, he absolutely has to be traded. J.J. McCarthy would be a miracle, but even 1st or 2nd draft picks would be an achievement.

I'm not an avid radio listener as I once was, but I recall Dennis Manilov (sp?) on WTAM had very honest critical takes on the Browns. For all that stations faults they at least aren't beholden to Haslam and his ilk, like 92.3 and ESPN 850 have seemingly no integrity when it comes to anything about the football squadron.

Just seen on Reddit this is hilarious 😂

At 40 Million a year not even Garrett could say no. That is a shocking amount of money for his position.

Well, I guess that means we're now a Superbowl team, at least according to Garrett's demands.

Welcome Mr... Darnold? Cousins? Fields?

Looks like if he couldn’t get on a super contender/ force a trade the next best thing was an absolute money heist. Good job to his agent.

And right now Khan, Jones, and Kraft are stumbling out of their mistresses' apartments and swearing, "NOT AGAIN JIMMY, NOT AGAIN!"

Hopefully they convince him to sell the team and we are done with his nonsense!

100000% I was thinking the same thing! The other owners have to be like wtf!

Meanwhile Parsons, Bosa, Watt and Hendrickson have been on the phone all morning.

The commissioner cannot force an owner to sell a franchise but can call for a 3/4 owners vote under section 3.8(A) of the Bylaws.
Time to test those waters.

Myles Garrett out hoodwinked Jimmy ( who is a master at hoodwinking )

They will regret this contract just as they regret Watson's contract
