Sources: Browns, Giants fielding trade calls as NFL draft nears

ESPN

Apr 22, 2025

The Cleveland Browns and New York Giants are fielding trade inquiries for their early picks in the NFL draft, sources told ESPN's Peter Schrager.

Although the Tennessee Titans are not entertaining offers for the first overall pick as of Tuesday morning, sources told Schrager that the Browns, who have the second pick, and the Giants, who pick third, have received trade calls over the past 48 hours -- and that neither team is outwardly rejecting those overtures.

i know, i know, but im cool with the browns building their d this draft and also with the picks.

we got flacco back to tide us over a few rough spots and save the days for next season. ha.

manning/texas wont come out early and they say nussmeier/lsu, allar/psu, beck/miami & klubnick/clemson are likely top qb’s for 2026. so keep an eye on them as the browns will probably grab up one of them.

i mean hey we wouldn’t be browns fans if we weren’t always looking ahead. 😂

Cleveland Browns Mercilessly Roasted Over NFL Draft Graph...

The graphic featured a flesh-colored dog bone that bounced up and down, which critics said resembled a scrotum more than a dog bone.

Great draft overall but I could do without the Sanders drama. Maybe a bargain in the 5th round but obviously not the prospect the media thinks or he would have went much earlier. Seems like another Jimmy pick to me.

It reeks of Jimmy, but in the 5th round? F*ck it, no loss if he doesn't pan out. I'll cut him some slack on this one. I was actually more annoyed they didn't stick with Hunter and traded down for an interior lineman at #'5. Reminded me of that draft under Eric Mangini and then when they traded out of Julio Jones for more mediocrity. I think I am just scarred from a history of trading out of top spots and wasting mountains of picks, although with the analytics obsession I am far from convinced a lot of these will pan out. Its went too far one way for me.

I'm not overly concerned with picking Shedeur that late. Hopefully we're all wrong about the circus that may form around him, but at least with a late pick he can use that chip on his shoulder to prove his value or he'll flame out with a lot less damage than cough DeShaun Watson. (Although it would be nice if he came back next year and proved everyone wrong.)

What really baffles me though is what the thinking was in selecting Dillon Gabriel. I just don't see why he was more valuable than some other needs -- like OL and LB depth.

I like Hunter a lot but I think Jacksonville made them an offer they couldn't refuse. Browns could have two top 10 picks (top 5?) in the draft next year, and I think Graham will be a solid player and fit in nicely next to Garret.

As for Gabriel, it seems like he was their QB target all along from what I've been reading. If they would have taken Sanders in the 3rd and Gabriel in the 5th nobody in the media would be complaining.

They do need to address the OL still.
