September 11, 200717 yr Well...you can probably go ahead and pencil in the Browns as 0-2. I'd use a pen.
September 11, 200717 yr Browns deal Charlie Frye to Seahawks By Len Pasquarelli - ESPN.com Updated: September 11, 2007, 1:20 PM ET The Cleveland Browns have agreed to trade starting quarterback Charlie Frye to the Seattle Seahawks. Terms of the deal have yet to be made public. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3014233
September 11, 200717 yr Browns trade Frye to Seattle Jay Glazer FOXSports.com, Updated 28 minutes ago Apparently, 20 minutes of action was all the Browns needed to see to make a change at quarterback. Cleveland has traded former starting quarterback Charlie Frye to the Seattle Seahawks for a sixth-round pick, FOXSports.com has learned. With Frye out of the picture, it should only be a matter of time before first-round pick Brady Quinn gets the nod as the starter. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7214446
September 11, 200717 yr Report says Cleveland Browns have traded Frye to Seattle Seahawks Posted by mstarkey September 11, 2007 13:18PM The Browns have traded Charlie Frye to the Seattle Seahawks for a sixth-round pick, FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer has reported. The Seahawks chose to trade for Frye to be their No. 3 quarterback rather than sign Ken Dorsey, who worked out for them last week. Dorsey will take Frye's place on the Browns roster. It remains to be seen how the Browns will reassemble their quarterback depth chart. Any of the three, which includes Derek Anderson and rookie Brady Quinn, could be a candidate to start Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. http://blog.cleveland.com/sports/2007/09/report_says_cleveland_browns_h.html
September 11, 200717 yr At least we got something for him.. I hope.. haha We haven't gotten much out of our second-day picks for the last couple of years! Most of the guys remain on the practice squad for a while then get cut!
September 11, 200717 yr I think getting rid of Frye really is a great move although it does seem like it causes some instability. Lets get serious, we're looking at Quinn around Week 7. Frye did not want to give up his starting spot (which all true competitors don't), but he was gonna be a locker room problem as a backup. This way you clear the path, bring back Dorsey and make Quinn happy and look to the future, because lets get serious, Frye was NOT in our long term plans. Anderson as our backup? Sure, but Quinn is our future, lets let the line gel and then go from there.
September 11, 200717 yr Sorry, I know this is my third version of this but this is the official release. Frye traded to Seattle; Dorsey signed Jeff Walcoff, Staff Writer 09.11.2007 The Browns have traded quarterback Charlie Frye to the Seattle Seahawks for an undisclosed draft choice, the team announced Tuesday. To take his place, the club re-signed veteran quarterback Ken Dorsey. http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/article.php?id=7293
September 11, 200717 yr Here's an insider article, I thought it was interesting.. Frye is better off in Seattle by: Jeremy Green posted: Tuesday, September 11, 2007 When I woke up this morning, I was expecting to hear some news regarding Browns QB Charlie Frye, but I was not expecting it to be that he was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Seattle Seahawks. I was thinking the news would be that Frye was no longer the starter in Cleveland and that the team was going to move in a new direction. Well, this morning the Browns moved in a new direction all right, shipping the 2005 third-round pick out West to Seattle. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=nfl_nfc
September 11, 200717 yr Wow! Everybody is better off and everybody will be a winner!! The Browns, the Seahawks, the Bengals and the Steelers, Charlie Frye, Brady Quinn and Ken Dorsey gets his job back and everything is all right, forever!!!
September 11, 200717 yr Anderson to start after Cleveland Browns trade Frye to Seattle Seahawks and sign Dorsey Posted by Plain Dealer staff September 11, 2007 13:18PM Browns general manager Phil Savage said today that the trade of Charlie Frye to Seattle for a sixth-round pick clarifies the quarterback situation. "Derek (Anderson) is the starter, Brady (Quinn) is the No. 2 and Ken (Dorsey) will help them both in the classroom,'' said Savage at an afternoon press briefing. The Browns confirmed that they have traded Frye to Seattle and re-signed Dorsey. The deal is contingent on Frye passing a physical in Seattle. http://blog.cleveland.com/sports/2007/09/report_says_cleveland_browns_h.html
September 11, 200717 yr Not a bad move. I thought that Chuck Frye wasn't improving at all. His passes were off (he was part of the problem with all of the drops). He stared down the receiver he was throwing to, and he didn't recognize coverage packages. He held onto the ball too long and didn't know when to throw it away. Lastly, he didn't have a mind for football. I like Dorsey. What he lacks in physical skills, he makes up in his knowledge, experience, and willingness to assist coaches and teammates. I'm glad he's back in Cleveland. I hope Charlie can have the opportunity to improve elsewhere. But you have to think...our starting QB is someone else's third string QB. That's pretty sad.

Can Anderson stay healthy for 15 more games? Will he have the endurance for a 16-game season? No way.
September 11, 200717 yr Anderson stinks too. I know, I know, I don't actually know anything about football, but come on he gets sacked less than Frye but they both don't score. This team is a disaster. They are the new Detroit Lions.
September 11, 200717 yr He stared down the receiver he was throwing to. Haha I take it you never played football cd? It's called checking off the receiver.
September 11, 200717 yr Yeah, but in my observation (no expert though), he didn't check off anyone. He didn't make his progressions from the primary to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th...options. He typically went from #1 straight to either the safety valve or to a scramble.
September 11, 200717 yr Yeah his problem is that once he checks off the #1, he can't pick him back up again, he gets locked on the #2 or scrambles.
September 12, 200717 yr He stared down the receiver he was throwing to. Haha I take it you never played football cd? It's called checking off the receiver. No, I never played football as a team sport and don't know the official rules and terminology of quarterbacking. So what?
September 12, 200717 yr ^ meaning a high school or college team! :-P You knew what I meant! Back on topic...the Browns.
September 13, 200717 yr Hey, there's a website where you can bet on when Brady Quinn will start! http://www.gambling911.com/Brady-Quinn-Starting-for-Browns-091307.html
September 16, 200717 yr Unbelievable game! I guess both defenses missed their buses and never made it to the stadium. But it was a lot of fun watching the scoreboard imitate that of a pinball machine!! Hopefully this will give the team a boost of confidence. September 16, 200717 yr Wow- the Bengals must really suck....losing to the Browns....awful just awful.
September 16, 200717 yr Don't be a jerk, LI. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
September 16, 200717 yr ^ Exactly. If the Browns need 51 points to win that is certainly nothing to gloat about.
September 16, 200717 yr Don't be a jerk, LI. I agree. What's the use in putting time and effort into posting that, LIC?
September 16, 200717 yr What a game.. so funny listening to people on the rapid on the way home this week vs. last week. Last week people wanted the team to just give up the rest of the season, and this week all the optimism is back. Go Browns!
September 16, 200717 yr Wow, what an awesome game. Sure wish that I could have watched it. I was busy showing houses to my in-laws (retiring to Cleveland from Nashville!), so I was busying doing my part for Cleveland.
September 16, 200717 yr  Wow, what an awesome game. Sure wish that I could have watched it. I was busy showing houses to my in-laws (retiring to Cleveland from Nashville!), so I was busying doing my part for Cleveland.
September 16, 200717 yr Ugh. That was just horrible, horrible football. I felt like I was watching a WAC game. The Bengals have some serious issues on defense, and they were exposed today. Early returns look like it's going to be the Steelers as the class of the division this year. I wouldn't count any of the other three teams out of second place after what I saw today. The Browns did what they had to do to win today, and I can respect that.
September 17, 200717 yr we are awful at football. the browns aren't much better, but they were better today. by the way lewis is one hell of a running back
September 17, 200717 yr Sports is ultimately a form of entertainment. On that score it was a great game. Those are also the kinds of games to introduce newbies to football. So, 3231, maybe you should have had your in-laws watch the game! Could've sold Cleveland even more. I taped it, in case you want to see it. So what did your in-laws think of potential homes and/or neighborhoods? PM me if you prefer. September 17, 200717 yr Coming off the high from Monday Night's game, this was a bucket of cold water-style shocker...congrats, you took our defense apart, and held our offense when it really counted...nicely done...
September 17, 200717 yr ^they love Lakewood! They've lived too many years in a cul-de-sac and have finally seen the light. I wish that I could have be at CBS today. What a great win for the franchise!
September 17, 200717 yr Glad they liked Lakewood. So do I! ;) Coming off the high from Monday Night's game, this was a bucket of cold water-style shocker...congrats, you took our defense apart, and held our offense when it really counted...nicely done... Very classy, RV. I'm sure Lewis can't wait for the revenge game in Cincy (that's Marvin, not Jamal!). September 17, 200717 yr What do you think made the difference today? I mean, I've been paying some attention this season, and I hadn't seen anything that would indicate they could do this, especially after last week. I like that they are having Anderson throw bombs down field. Those are fun to watch :)
September 17, 200717 yr we should have a forum rule to discuss all battle of ohio games on the winner's board. by the way, why is there a wind turbine at the brown's stadium?
September 17, 200717 yr we should have a forum rule to discuss all battle of ohio games on the winner's board. by the way, why is there a wind turbine at the brown's stadium? The turbine is at the Great Lakes Science Center next door. It was installed last year, right? It's sort of an example of what will hopefully be a larger wind farm out on Lake Erie.
September 17, 200717 yr The wind turbine actually provides electricity to the Great Lakes Science Center. The improvements the Browns made in the off-season began showing in preseason, but they became more evident today. They made a lot of moves to upgrade the offensive line, and it looked like the line is starting to gel. That always takes time. It's true that Jamal Lewis was a tremendous addition, but without the additions on the offensive line and giving them a chance to work together, getting Lewis wouldn't have meant as much. I thought the Browns last year had some pretty decent receivers/tight ends which we kept, as well as some decent linebackers which we added to with Antwan Peek (from U of Cincinnati) in the off-season. The Bengals exploited our ongoing weakness on the defensive line, and our "improvements" in the secondary haven't shown up yet. And who really knows about QB Derrick Anderson? The guy has started only four games in the NFL. I guess we'll see. The short summary is, most Browns fans I've heard from say the team improved in the off-season. How much? Only after they've had a chance to gel some more and stay healthy will we know. Well one thing is for sure...it looked cool as hell in that camera shot. As for the game...the Bengals made Anderson look like freaking Peyton Manning...and Jamal looked like he was young again. In addition to that the whole team just looked to have extra pep in their step...even the FB was putting on spin moves and jukes. What a wacky game...oh and Ocho Cinco got totally drenched with beer from that one dude in the dawg pound. I'm guessing he was escorted out, but who knows?
