You know he's going to come back to haunt us.

Unlikely in Tampa Bay.  We only play them every couple years.

The success of this trade depends on K2's health for the rest of his career.  If Man-Kok feel he's going to decline physically the next few years, then its probably a good time to trade him.  Hopefully we got a 2.

^ Yeah.. my like/dislike of this trade will depend on the pick or picks we got.  Honestly, I'm glad he's gone.. he was becoming a locker room cancer and his body is beat to shit.. he may be in his 20's.. but his body is that of a 40 year old.

He was a gamer-but he also whined alot.  He's the type of guy that should play somewhere with a spread offense, because hes not a true TE.  You have to have character as a team to win a Super Bowl.  Get rid of all the whiners and get stuff for them.

Hell he was eye candy!  :'(

He was decent.. more of a cancer in some things.. but he could catch the ball... sometimes...

We're very deep at TE so it's not a huge loss.  Heiden would start on most teams, and that guy we drafted last year deserves a look.

I loved K2 on the field, wasn't so fond of him off of it.  I initially drank the kool aid regarding being "misunderstood," but when distractions occur over and over again, there tends to be a reason.

i agree, but what timing. i was just talking about the browns and how now i thought winslow was healthy. yet true that made him better trade bait. aww well.

Anyone think we should go after TO?  Thoughts?

NO! We just got rid of a stage one locker room cancer.. now you want full blown cancer?!

I like TO!

^ Yeah, probably bc you think he's cute!  As a teammate he's horrible.. look at his track record..

Plus, he's on the downside of his career, he's not a top tier WR anymore.

He's not cute, but his body is slammin'!    I think he's still a potent receiver and could help our core out.

Our core?  You mean drop-ball Edwards, DNP Stallworth, 2 catches all-year Rucker, or Staph-infection Joe?

This is a rebuilding year, lets face the facts.. hence why they aren't spending big money in free agency, and cleared Winslow's contact.

TO wants to go to a contender.  I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up with the Giants.

See I was thinking he would go to the Colts or Titans.

All three are good guesses, but what about the Raiders?  They love bad people and they need weapons.

I don't know.  I see him Washington before Oakland.

I think he'll end up in New York for sure.  It makes too much sense!  They're losing (lost?) Burress and will need a prime time receiver to replace him.  Sure he's on the ass end of his career, but he can still play with the best.

Browns signed Hank Poteat, a reserve corner from the Jets.

Browns are also looking at Roy Williams, former Cowboys safety.

Browns release WR Joe Jurevicius

By TOM WITHERS, AP Sports Writer 10 hours, 34 minutes ago

CLEVELAND (AP)—Joe Jurevicius was convinced he could come back next season and help his hometown Cleveland Browns. They weren’t so sure.

Jurevicius, a die-hard Cleveland fan who attended Browns games as a kid, was released by the club Wednesday after it couldn’t work out a new contract with the veteran wide receiver.

I don't think this is an issue of Mangini not wanting a guy like Joe.. if you think about it, Joe is the exact kind of Mangini/Belichick guy, solid, doesn't cause problems, does whatever you ask of him, won't complain..

My guess, Joe's knee is shot and as seen with Belichick, use them til' they're dry, then get rid of them.

What happens to Stallworth's contract if he goes to Jail? Does anybody know? Is Vick still technically under contract with Atlanta?

Sometimes there's an "actions that make us look bad" out-clause for the team.  Don't know if that's the case here.

Let's hope so. This a touchy subject seeing that Stallworth ran over and killed a person with his Bentley (what a way to go BTW). I feel bad talking about the possible upside to the Browns.

Seems like they could definitely get out of the contract due to impossibility of performance. The problem would be that the Browns would still be liable for the bonus. I'm not sure how that really works--we just have him a huge bonus last week. But now that I think about it, I think that Vick had to pay back a portion of his bonus.  hmm, this ought to be interesting..

All's I know is Crabtree looks better and better.

Yes, Vick is still under contract with the Falcons.

We need DEFENSE.. if you go offense, you go RB..

This is Cleveland, you don't win football games in December with cold, wind, and snow by airing the ball out.  Hence why I've never been a huge DA fan.. not a smart player who depends on his arm too much.

Two recievers ago I would agree-- just draft defense.  But now we only have one reciever left.  We can't even field an offense.  If Curry is available at 5, we gotta take him.  Otherwise I think we need the best WR we can get.  There aren't any #5 caliber RBs out there this year.  I expect us to take a RB in round 2, especially if we go D in round 1.  If we do take a WR early, maybe we stick with Lewis/Harrison another year and use both second round picks on D.

There is no pick in the draft that is worthy of that #5 pick for the Browns' needs.  Curry will be off the board, Orakpo reminds me too much of Kamerion, and we don't need another star WR in Crabtree for BE to butt heads with.  It's too high for the OSU duo (Jenkins and Beanie).  Trade down, trade down, trade down.

I think they should give all indications that they will be picking Crabtree and trade out of the spot for a lower first and a high second.  That would give them 4 picks in between, say, the 15th and 50th picks in the draft.  That would be remarkable for a team with as much rebuilding needed as the Browns.  The are plenty of great players, just not that freak talent that is deserving of that pick.

Those could be spent on 2 LB's (the draft is stacked with them) a RB and CB/WR (Robiskie?).  Build from the draft.  Ask the Steelers.  Get it done ManKok.

That would be better, but trading down is really hard to do and the entire top 10 probably wants to.  I wouldn't mind seeing BE have to cope with being the "other" WR here.  Might do him some good.

I agree with the idea of trading down, but disagree with most of the rest.  I am not convinced that Curry will be off the board.  KC could very well take him, but I don't see anybody else in front of us using that high of a draft pick on a player that in other, more top-heavy drafts would be in the 10-20 range.

Orakpo should not remind you of Wimbley at all.  Wimbley was a one-yr wonder at Florida St. (did not start until his senior year) and was likely the beneficiary of offensive blocking schemes focusing on FSU's other, more star-powered players, such as Ernie Sims and Buster Davis.  Orakpo was the focus of many double teams, being Texas's biggest name player on defense this past year and still produced.  He also would be a strong side LB for us whereas Wimbley has to play the weakside.  Orakpo also has a much better motor and... gasp... a mean streak.

Finally, I feel that Crabtree and BE would make an excellent combo.  BE would be the big play threat and Crabtree would fill the role of possession receiver.  The short route passing system of Texas Tech has set him up to be a bigger and more athletic version of Wes Welker.  I don't see the two of them butting heads, and judging from other off-season moves (and car "accidents") I am now predicting he will be the pick at #5 if still there and both Monroe and Curry are gone.

The NE-KC trade screwed the Browns, Curry will be a Chief.

The Browns need to cover their bases and work out J'Nathan Bullock.  He is not going to make the NBA as a PF, but at 6-5 240 and a HS football background, he is worth a look.  We can't let another Antonio Gates slip out from under our noses.

How very meta.  That's a great idea.

I wouldn't bank on that.  The consensus among experts remains Curry, but I there are some indication that they are going to go with either side of the line instead.  I could definitely see them taking the OT that St. Louis passes on (either Monroe or J. Smith).  FWIW, I still take Orakpo even if Curry is still on the board at #5.

They'll likely trade down, my opinion at least.

David Patten??..What was Darrin Chiaverini busy?

If you have time to recognize the problem and flash your headlights, don't you have time to swerve?

Not necessarily.  Have you been on the causeway?  Those people in Miami drive at Indy 500 speeds.

I wonder if he was one of those fishers that parks and fishes of the side of the causeway?  I've seen those folks dart out in traffic before.  It's scary.

No MTS, he was leaving work crossing the street to catch the bus.

Thanks.

The following quote made me think he was on the causeway itself.  To be honest, I haven't read the other articles.

A police diagram shows that Reyes was hit in the far left lane of the six-lane MacArthur Causeway—not in a nearby crosswalk. Stallworth stopped a few feet away.

He's just trying to make them both sound good.

^ Exactly, can't come out and say "Quinn is our guy, we don't want DA anymore.. but please, give us some good draft picks for him."

*Yawn...is perpetual rebuilding a team strategy that works?
