No peeps= good.  remember last year there was something on ESPN EVERY week about the browns, whether is was staph, quitting, pieces of meat, injuries, etc.  Since Mangini has taken over its appears been all business and no external or leaked subplots.  Im loving it, and as a result the fans have kept quiet and just go about getting ready for the season.

I fixed that for you as I've heard a few things.  But, then again or people are snooping for things.

I've not commented (or even visited this thread) until now because I'm not very interested in the Browns anymore. They are going to have to give me a reason to care again. As for Eric Mangini, I was disappointed with him being hired by the Browns. I hope I'm wrong about him.

I went to camp on Sunday.  Talk about all business.  No messing around, no horseplay (Braylon racing jailbird Stallworth with no shoes on).  Practice ran over the 3:30 pm end time by at least 30 minutes bc Mangini didn't like what he saw.  I left before they ended bc I was roasting.  There's obviously a new sheriff in town.

That said, there were balls all over the field, neither QB nor receivers were very impressive.  Line looked good.  I love watching those guys grit it out.  They didn't look great, but hey, they're BACK!

KJP you have stated your case against the browns before and it is a very compelling case.

We'll keep you posted if they happen to catch lightning in a bottle this year.

Why would you keep coming here if you didn't care?

4 more quarters without an offensive touchdown.  The streak could have been broken in the 2nd quarter, but Stone Hands struck again.

They played exactly like my mentally challenged friend does on Madden.

are you seriously expecting an improvement from last year?

New team in town called "The Cleveland Grays"

Anderson might as well just give Quinn the job the way he looked last night against a third-string defense.

Quinn has 6.32 million reasons to become the Browns starter

Two years ago, Browns quarterback Brady Quinn missed ten days of camp as his agent and the team haggled over an appropriate contract.

The problem was that Quinn slid into the twenties on draft day, and that he wanted to get himself in position to make much more than his slot would otherwise dictate, if he were to become the week-in, week-out starter.

In the end, Quinn inked a deal that tied significant dollars to playing time.  Specifically, if he participated in 55 percent of the snaps as a rookie or in his second year, his 2010 salary would escalate by $5 million.

mangini seriously needs to name quinn the starter, give the offense time to gel......

^ Won't happen this week unless Quinn just looks amazing and Anderson continues to look like shit, my guess is in the next 7-10 day range he will name Quinn.

It's going to be another long season but I am still excited for it.  All I ask is that they improve over last season... I would love it if they could finally get a win over those darn Steelers.  They did look pretty bad last night and I expected a lot more out of Anderson.

Dereck Anderson=Dr Jeckel/Mr Hyde  ...  dude can suck one week and look brillant the next.

Brady Quinn does not look determined enough to become the starter..

Good to know absolutely nothing has changed in the last year...  maybe next year.  :drunk:

it was the Lions in a preseason game, lets not get our hopes up.

i watched this game while we were at the lake erie crushers baseball game in avon. two sports for one - lol!

the upper deck patio had a big screen tv you could see from our seats and they were making game progress announcements. the sarcastic crowd commentary after each announcement about the browns game was pretty funny.

ok..... but we were what? 3-13 last year? I was at the game on Saturday and that's ALL I heard people saying. The Patriots can use the 'its just the lions in the preseason' I think we need to build on any success we have.

success only counts when there is a "W" in the win column during in the regular season!

agreed

success only counts when there is a "W" in the win column during in the regular season!

What's that? A W?

I think they are dead in the water even if they start playing mediocre football being in the same division as Pittsburgh and Baltimore. That's 4 losses right there.

Are you serious?  A you a man?  W=win?  Lawd!

I cannot believe no one took a second to comment on this photo.

Sorry I forgot the smiley face for sarcasm.

My brother kept texting during the game and annoying me because he was getting all worked up about how good they looked.

Anderson gets a hot hand against Detroit, excuse me for not getting excited. We will see how they do this week. I watched two minutes of that game and saw exactly what I needed to see. I turned in on at the end of the half to watch Anderson rocket in two 8 yd passes and then turn it over.

That being said. Go Browns!

Sorry I forgot the smiley face for sarcasm.

Anyone at the game notice how drunk Hollie Strano appeared to be while doing the weather forecast on the field?  Mark Nolan had to cut her off, then she stumbled off the field.

OMG funniest thing ever... she was slurring EVERYTHING, hanging all over mark.

^^ Anyone know where there's a video of it?  I checked youtube, no luck though.

No way!, Now I wished I had watched the game.

The Nolan/Strano weather report that we saw was on the jumbotron, I don't think it was on TV.  Though I was hoping it was somehow.  She was stumbling towards us after they were done in the east endzone and had to walk the length of the field to get to the exit by the west endzone.

Just a sarcastic remark that popped into my head...

"She probably shouldn't have agreed to do a shot for every point the Browns scored. Usually that it safe bet, who knew?"

i was hoping it'd have the Lions.  after all, the last time either was good it was back then.

haha -- now thats what real football is.

what book was that? i think we had it too, or at least i've seen that picture before.

I think that is the 1965 Championship Game played in Green Bay

:-D Bah! full facemasks. That's not football :-D

jets castoff mediocre mangini is a train wreck. 4-12 at best. ugh!

I'm going to be optimistic and say 6-10.

4-12 ....  6-10... two losses to Pitt. Same 'ole shi!!... BUT, maybe they will do a fluke and go 9-7... or better.....  .................  ......... Nahhhhhh! I will watch highlights of 60's BROWNS teams and Paul Warfield.

who said 16-0???  That makes no sense.  I wanted realistic guesses.

You enabled them by giving nonsensical options

I know....some peoples kids!  Cant take them anywhere!  :whip:

I am saying 7-9 record, but who really knows?

I also guess 7-9.  I don't think the browns are more than a .500 team.  If they break even I'll be happy.

i'm also going with 7-9.  We still aren't any good... but we've got one of the easiest schedules in the league.

There's a couple games on the schedule that they better win, and a handful of others that ought to be interesting. I'm going with 5-11, but I'll be overjoyed if they can pull off .500.

QB = Brady Quinn, then 8-8

QB = Derek Anderson, then 5-11
